Enterprise CPE-XR brings extended range and
link stability
TORONTO, March 31, 2016 /CNW/ - Redline Communications
(www.rdlcom.com) Group Inc. (TSX: RDL), a leading provider of
wide-area wireless networks for the most challenging applications
and locations, introduced today a new fixed broadband wireless
device which enables telecom service providers to offer enhanced
data services to their enterprise customers.
The new "Enterprise CPE-XR" (Extended Range) is the newest
addition to Redline's award-winning RDL-3000 family of wireless
solutions. It works in conjunction with the RDL-3000 base station
to bring high-end wireless connectivity to any end point without
the cost and inconvenience of cabling. The Enterprise CPE-XR
has three times the power and a much narrower wireless dispersion
than the existing Redline Enterprise CPE, bringing greater range
and a much smaller interference profile for improved performance,
especially in dense urban and high-interference scenarios.
"Telecom Service Providers that focus on the high-end Dedicated
Internet Access (DIA) market are dealing with never-ending demands
from their business customers for better data performance from the
network," said Rodney Cronin,
associate vice president, product management for Redline
Communications. "Redline's Enterprise CPE-XR allows service
providers to easily deliver wireless service with data speeds
exceeding 100 Mbps at ranges up to 12 miles (19 kilometers), even
in areas that are affected by interference from other wireless
systems."
The new integrated antenna on the Enterprise CPE-XR utilizes a
technology that creates a very narrow wireless dispersion, which
makes the link between the CPE and the base station much more
robust when other systems are operating in the same wireless
spectrum – such as is common in dense urban areas. The Enterprise
CPE-XR also brings telecom service providers an increased service
footprint as it extends the range of their RDL-3000 Base Stations
without the use of large and more expensive parabolic antennas at
customer locations.
The release of the Enterprise CPE-XR comes just months after
Redline released enhanced smart-radio (STBC & MRRC) and
smart-antenna (MIMO) upgrades that added range and capacity to the
RDL-3000 family of wireless products in the different deployment
scenarios.
"Redline has reinvented the RDL-3000 family of radios to address
the business challenges of the Telecom Service Provider," added
Cronin. "Wireless telecom service providers operating in licensed
spectrums are looking for greater Revenues per MHz of spectrum and
unlicensed spectrum providers are looking for greater capacity
under harsh interference and they're both looking to increase their
wireless footprint from each base station. The Enterprise CPE-XR
helps fulfill all of these needs."
The Enterprise CPE-XR is available in all of the RDL-3000's
"Universal Wireless Transport" spectrums including the popular 5GHz
unlicensed bands, 3.3 – 3.8 GHz and 4.9 GHz public safety.
Designed as a point-to-multipoint (PMP) system for maximum cost
effectiveness, the system also supports point-to-point (PTP)
configurations, whereby two Enterprise CPE-XR units can be
programmed via software as an independent PTP link.
The RDL-3000 Enterprise CPE-XR is fully backward compatible with
all of Redline's RDL-3000 systems deployed around the globe by
telecom service providers, oil and gas producers, public safety
agencies, governments and other private networks. The product
is available today.
