Habanero Resources Inc. ("Habanero" or the "Company") (TSX
VENTURE:HAO)(PINKSHEETS:HBNRF)(FRANKFURT:HRJ) is pleased to provide the
following exploration update with respect to Grand-Vallee North Aluminous Clay
Prospect near Murdochville, Quebec.
The 2012 Grand-Vallee North geologic mapping and soil geochemical programs are
well underway. Exploration crews have collected 1,184 soil samples at 50m
intervals along 400m spaced gridlines within the southern part of Habanero's
claims adjacent to the Orbite Aluminae Inc.'s ("Orbite") Grand-Vallee property,
and 800m spaced reconnaissance gridlines with the northern claims. Initial soil
sampling has been focused on an approximately 3 x 1 km priority area from which
nine (9) rock samples collected during 2011 returned values ranging from 18.93%
to 22.99% Al2O3(announced March 1, 2012). Geologic mapping has resulted in the
discovery of at least two new red clay stone occurrences within the priority
area having visual similarities to the 2011 rock samples. A total of 329 soil
samples have been analyzed to date on site via portable x-ray fluorescence
(XRF). The results define an 800m (17 sample) aluminium anomaly spanning two
aluminous clay occurrences identified by the 2011 sampling.
The new clay occurrences lie at distances of 0.7 and 2.0 km northwest of Orbite
Aluminae Inc.'s ("Orbite") "Zone D" aluminous clay occurrence. Exploration at
the Zone D occurrence by Orbite has defined a 300 x 100m zone of fragmentary
shale and red shale that returned anomalous Al2O3 values. According to their
June 5, 2012 press release, Orbite is currently completing a ground geophysical
survey, to be followed by 1,500-2,000 metres of diamond drilling, within their
Simoneau and Madeleine aluminous clay sectors immediately south of Habanero's
claims.
Jason Gigliotti, President of Habanero stated, "We are encouraged by the initial
indications on the Grand-Vallee North Prospect. We are anticipating finishing
this phase of sampling shortly with a drill program to follow targeting the
highest prospective zones defined by the sampling and mapping data gathered."
Work on the Grand-Vallee North Prospect is supervised by Kristopher J. Raffle,
P.Geo. (BC) Senior Geologist for APEX Geoscience Ltd. of Edmonton, AB, who is
the qualified person for the project as defined by National Instrument 43-101.
Mr. Raffle has reviewed the portion of the technical content of this news
release as it relates to the Grand-Vallee North Prospect. To ensure accuracy of
the results obtained, the portable XRF unit has been calibrated using powder
pulps from the 2011 samples analyzed by whole rock XRF at ALS Minerals, North
Vancouver, BC. As part of a standard quality assurance/quality control program,
duplicate XRF analysis is performed on all samples, and 5% of all samples are
collected as field duplicates. All samples returning anomalous aluminum values
by portable XRF will be confirmed by whole rock XRF at ALS Minerals.
Habanero is a diversified junior company with the following prospects: the White
Gold Prospect in the White Gold Region Yukon, bordering Kinross' Golden Saddle
discovery; the Haldane Silver Prospect in the Keno Hill Silver Region of the
Yukon bordering Alexco Resources Corp.'s Bellekeno property; the Lezai
Multi-Element Prospect located approximately 100 km north of Chibougamau,
Quebec; and the Grande-Vallee North Aluminous Clay Prospect consisting of
approximately 7,400 hectares (18,285 acres) near Murdochville, Quebec, bordering
Orbite Aluminae Inc.'s deposit.
