Skygold Intersects Additional High-Grade Gold at Thunder Ridge
Tue Sep 1, 8:00 AM
http://ca.news.finance.yahoo.com/s/01092009/28/link-f-ccnmatthews-skygold-intersects-additional-high-grade-gold-thunder-ridge.html
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 1, 2009) - Skygold Ventures Ltd. ("Skygold" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: SKV.V) is pleased to announce that additional high-grade gold intercepts have been encountered in drilling completed on the Thunder Ridge Zone. The Thunder Ridge Zone is located on Skygold's 100% owned Spanish Creek project in central British Columbia approximately 100 km south of the Company's flagship Spanish Mountain Project.
The current drilling program consisted of 10 holes totaling 3043.12 metres and was designed to further evaluate high grade gold intercepts returned from the initial reconnaissance drill program completed in late 2008. The 2008 drilling returned values up to 45.49 g/t gold over 2.5 metres including 223 g/t gold over 0.5 m in Hole SC-005 (see News Release dated January 17, 2009). All of the drilling has been completed within an 850 metre by 350 wide metre corridor which is contained within a 1500 metre by 800 metre wide gold soil and rock sample anomaly. The anomaly occurs within a belt of rocks which hosts wide spread Orogenic Gold systems similar to the Yana-Kolyma Fold Belt in Russia which hosts large bulk tonnage and high grade vein deposits. These initial results suggest that the Thunder Ridge property may have potential to develop into a large high-grade gold system.
Significant new results are summarized in Table 1.
Highlights:
- Hole SC-017 intersected 8.84 g/t gold over 7.5 metres including 39.50 g/t gold over 1.5 metres and a second zone of 2.14 g/t gold over 9.0 metres including 9.45 g/t gold over 1.5 metres.
- Hole SC-018 intersected 2.88 g/t gold over 24.0 metres including 9.68 g/t gold over 6.0 metres and including 18.05 g/t gold over 3.0 metres.
- Hole SC-015 intersected 3.23 g/t over 6.0 metres including 11.40 g/t gold over 1.5 metres.
- Gold mineralization is noted in several styles including quartz vein hosted, structure controlled and disseminated zones in black shale sequences. Early interpretation indicates that there may be several sub-parallel or folded zones of gold mineralization.
A geophysical survey will be flown over the project to aid in target delineation and interpretation. Brian Groves, President of Skygold stated: "We continue to be pleased by the results from Thunder Ridge and are encouraged by the success of the drilling program. We will move quickly to interpret all drilling results and in combination with the new geophysical data, we will plan for another drilling program on the property in 2009."
Bob Singh, Exploration Manager stated: "These current results demonstrate the good potential for a high-grade gold deposit at Thunder Ridge. This new discovery has returned significant gold values in quartz veins within an 850 metre by 350 metre area and remains open in all directions. Nine of the ten holes completed intersected gold mineralization which is a very high success rate and even more compelling considering the zone does not outcrop. The wide spread nature of the gold mineralization, high grade values and multiple zones of quartz veining highlight the potential of the area. Thunder Ridge has the potential to host a large scale gold deposit with high grade structurally controlled zones. Skygold has already discovered a +2.5 million ounce deposit in this belt of rocks and we are very excited to see Thunder Ridge developing into a significant gold deposit."
The Spanish Creek property is located approximately 50 kilometres northeast of the town of 100 Mile House in central British Columbia. The Thunder Ridge area is accessed via a network of well maintained Forest Service roads directly from 100 Mile House. Grid power is available within 20 km of the property.

A lenghtly update, eh?
Anything that can increase the resources could be good. It's a lot to do, considering the already proven reserves. SKV remains a buy, according to one Analyst. My Broker does not have any Analyst concensus.
Don't have any SKV and still not sure what to think. I would have thought, by now, that it would be further ahead and its SP not this low... overall, I think it's a good speculative buy. It would not take much to move up.
MATHEMATICS: Isn't it strange:"- Hole SC-005 intersected 45.49 g/t gold over 2.5 metres including 223.0 g/t gold over 0.5 metre." ...multiplying the 45.5 by 5 is extremely close to the 2.5 metres total.
Remembering that resources should lead recovery...

Skygold Provides a Corporate Update
Monday May 4, 8:00 am ET
http://ca.us.biz.yahoo.com/iw/090504/0497311.html
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(MARKET WIRE)--May 4, 2009 -- Skygold Ventures Ltd. ("Skygold" or the "Company") (CDNX:SKV.V - News) is pleased to provide an update on the Company and its exploration plans for 2009.
Spanish Mountain
The Company disclosed an updated resource estimate for Spanish Mountain in a release dated March 18, 2009. The updated measured and indicated resource at a gold cut-off grade of 0.5 g/t is 102.26 million tonnes at an average grade of 0.785 g/t (2.58 million ounces gold) and an inferred resource of 11.65 million tonnes at an average grade of 0.787 g/t (290,000 ounces gold). The Main Zone remains open to the north, south and at depth. Modeling of all drill data has identified a north-south oriented structural corridor within and extending beyond the current limits of the Main Zone. The Company plans to complete the following work at Spanish Mountain this year:
- Preliminary engineering studies to evaluate conceptual pit designs and potential mill capacity.
- Drilling to the north and south of the Main Zone to assess the potential to increase the resource. Limited deep drilling will be completed to ascertain the potential for additional gold mineralization below the currently defined mineralized areas.
- Drilling of target areas along the structural corridor including the Oscar and Cedar Ridge zones as shown on the target map located on the company website at www.skygold.ca.
- Drilling of interpreted parallel structural corridors in areas where these structures intersect favourable stratigraphy similar to the stratigraphy which hosts the gold mineralization within the Main Zone.
- Drilling of large diameter core holes for additional metallurgical and geotechnical sampling.
- Ongoing environmental baseline work.
Spanish Creek (Thunder Ridge) Property
The Company disclosed the results from a drilling program on this property in January, 2009. Highlights included:
- Hole SC-005 intersected 45.49 g/t gold over 2.5 metres including 223.0 g/t gold over 0.5 metre.
- Hole SC-007 intersected 1.23 g/t gold over 11.5 metres including 4.83 g/t gold and 232.0 g/t silver over 1.5 metres and 1.32 g/t gold over 6.5 metres in separate horizons.
Lower grade gold mineralization has been intersected in wide (up to 28 metres) zones in 5 of the 7 drill holes completed on the property. This drilling was in an area where available government assessment data had suggested that no previous drilling had been undertaken. High grade gold mineralization with associated silver mineralization was encountered within the wider zones of lower grade gold mineralization. Preliminary interpretation of the results suggests that the mineralization is within a wide deformation corridor which has been currently traced over a strike length of at least 600 metres and is open in all directions.
The Company is planning to complete further drilling on the property to ascertain the extent of the deformation corridor and to assess the potential for additional higher grade gold mineralization.
Trenching and prospecting work is planned for the Manson Creek and Prince George properties.

Why Gold Stocks? They Provide the Biggest Bang for your Buck -
During a gold bull market, I have a strong preference for gold
stocks over either gold bullion or gold coins, largely
because gold shares are leveraged to the price of gold.
In other words, as the price of gold rises, profits of
gold-mining stocks rise more in percentage terms.
Generally, over the longer term, the share prices of
major gold-mining firms rise by a factor of two or
three times more than the price of gold.
The reason gold-mining profits are leveraged to the price
of gold is obvious.
A rising gold price does not lead to a rising cost
of production.
Therefore, for companies that are already profitable,
incremental revenues received from selling gold at a
higher price flow straight to the company's pre-tax
bottom line.
For companies that are unprofitable, a rise in the gold
price can suddenly lift them into profitability and
with that, the share prices can sometimes
rise dramatically -

Skygold, like so many Juniors, had reached rock bottom under .10 just a little while ago. This closing around .25 and holding indicates, imo, some comeback. Still a far cry from $1.00 and more but, in these market conditions, this 150% recent gain shows promises.

Yeah, I've seen Rolfoto's posts before.
SKV is not much of an investment, for me, but I think that as SKV has done much work in the area and reserve is building up nicely, many other Juniors in the area depend on SKV-WRS results.
OT: from my profile, here, you can tell my interests: DJI, EFSF, and, to some extent, ENGM and HIHO (Hi Ho Silver).
These days, I'm watching what TMO will do in B.C. and what will happen with the TIX.P qualifying transaction.
Just read a few British Columbia Mining posts and see that SH and others are refered to.
Once the good labs catch on their backlog and the not so good ones get to be known, this area will house many winners, I see the HGC-EUK, for one...

Hard to understand how this company keeps slipping.
The probable merger with Wildrose and the for ever higher price of gold, combined with some savings resulting from the merger should have kept SKV much higher.
At the moment, of course, lab results all around are late by as much as four months but within a month, namy Juniors in the area will define their 2008 program. There are some major players around. NovaGold does have claims at Shiko in the Cariboo region, for example.
Worth watching.

Recent news from Skygold.
Please note that the Quesnel and Prince George areas, etc, are NOT remote areas.
"Skygold Ventures Identifies Four New Exploration Targets Similar to its Spanish Mountain Discovery
4/3/2007
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Apr 03, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) --
Skygold Ventures Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: SKV) ("Skygold") is pleased to announce the identification of four new exploration targets on its 100% owned Quesnel Trough SHG (sediment hosted gold) project in central British Columbia. The new targets are based on the results of Skygold's reconnaissance scale exploration program and each target is geologically similar to the Spanish Mountain discovery. Skygold controls one of the largest land packages in the Quesnel Trough area.
The regional program consisted of geological mapping, prospecting and soil and heavy mineral sampling over a large area of the claim holdings in central British Columbia (approximately 450,000 hectares) stretching intermittently from 100 kilometres southeast of Spanish Mountain to about 400 kilometres northwest of Spanish Mountain. Initial results have identified the four targets, each demonstrating moderate to strongly anomalous gold geochemical values, and all within areas of black clastic sediments that are very similar to those seen at Skygold's Spanish Mountain property. The four targets have been named Spanish Creek-Bosk Lake, Prince George, Manson Creek and MT Property.
The regional exploration program was supervised by J. Dawson, P.Eng. and G. Belik, P.Geo.
Highlights ..."
This in addition to well documented reserves.
IMO, a stock to watch. Also keep a watch for the juniors in the area. For example, Eureka (EUK) gained a lot when Hawthorne Gold JV'd to gain up to 51%... Hawthorne Gold will become public soon....

My main interest, in the Spanish Mountain group, is Dajin (DJI) but most of the smaller resources, including Dajin, rely on Skygold and Wildrose, the two main players.
Both WRS and SKV have gained recently. WRS, in particular, is close to $1.20 after lows around .90. SKV seems a sure value at$1.50 is at $1.70,today. Gold over $650 and the CDN $ well under .90US are helping.
More later,if anyone's interested.

Partnership with Wildrose (WRS). Others in the area: AKV, Acrex Resources, down recently, on so-so results, EUK, Eureka, up substanstially, since theirlast new srelease, DJI, Dajin Resources with claims close to SKV and EUK and also showing well inzinc, FEX, Fjorland, also in the area.
Surprized to see NO post,here!
