Wolverine Minerals Corp. ("Wolverine" or the "Company") (TSX
VENTURE: WLV)(FRANKFURT: 4LP) is pleased to provide an update on
its exploration programs in the Dawson Range District, Yukon.
Initial work is focused on the five core properties in the Mount
Nansen area.
DDD-Shamrock Property - extensive soil sampling, prospecting and
mapping has been completed and results of at least 3000 samples are
pending. At least two new mineralized zones have been discovered at
the DDD-North showing and bulldozer trenching has been initiated at
one zone to be followed by detailed mapping and trench sampling. At
the Shamrock showing, an extensive grid based soil sampling program
was completed over historical showings and results are pending. A
more detailed cut grid is presently being completed for a ground
geophysical survey to be initiated around August 10, 2011.
Dade Property - preliminary backhoe trenching, sampling and
geological mapping was concentrated in the area of the historical
work at the Grizzly vein. Shallow trenching with heli-portable
backhoes exposed part of the main area of interest. The main vein
zone was exposed by five trenches over a strike length of about 50
meters and remains open along strike in both directions. At the
western end of the structure, the principle vein is about 7.5
meters wide within an envelope of silicification with local
stockwork veining that is up to 25 meters wide. To the east, the
full extent of the zone is partially masked by permafrost. The
Grizzly vein zone occurs in an area of low relief with no outcrop
however scattered float, porphyry dikes and quartz stringers in
trenches suggest the possibility of parallel structures. After
sampling part of the zone, the Company decided to bring in a larger
excavator to more fully expose the zone. That program is in
progress and initial results are expected shortly. A combined
airborne magnetic and radiometric geophysical survey was recently
completed over the Dade property. The data will be sent to Condor
Consulting Inc. of Denver, CO. for detailed interpretation.
BBB Property - an extensive soil sampling program has been
completed and a further detailed closely spaced grid sampling
program was undertaken, with results pending. A combined airborne
magnetic and radiometric geophysical survey has been completed and
the data will be sent to Condor Consulting Inc. of Denver, CO. for
detailed interpretation.
Sked-Desk Property - backhoe trenching of the main showings has
been completed, as well as geological mapping of the main area of
interest. Trench sampling has been completed and final results are
pending.
CCC Property - several historical areas of anomalous gold and
arsenic values were detailed by additional more closely spaced soil
sampling and results are pending.
