Air France-KLM (AF.FR) said Monday that it has launched an
"expanded joint venture" with Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL) and Virgin
Atlantic--part of Virgin Group--that aims to offer more routes to
their customers.
Through the partnership, flyers will have a larger choice of
routes and loyalty options when traveling between Europe, the U.K.
and the U.S., the Franco-Dutch carrier said.
"The new partnership provides customers with more convenient
flight schedules and a shared goal of ensuring a smooth and
consistent travel experience, whichever airline people fly," the
company added.
Air France, KLM and Delta have been transatlantic partners since
2009, while Virgin Atlantic struck a partnership with the U.S.
airline in 2013. The next step was to establish a "single
transatlantic joint venture," Air France-KLM said.
