Holcim Ltd. (HOLN.VX) plans to raise its cement manufacturing capacity in India to 60 million metric tons a year in the next five years, a company executive said Thursday.

The company will expand capacity through both new and existing plants, Paul Hugentobler, a member of the executive committee of Holcim, told Dow Jones Newswires on the sidelines of an industry conference.

Holcim, through units ACC Ltd. (500410.BY) and Ambuja Cements Ltd. (500425.BY), currently has a manufacturing capacity of 50 million tons a year in India.
