Anglo American Platinum Ltd. (AMS.JO) said on Tuesday that it
condemned an attack that killed six workers who were on their way
to the company's Modikwa Platinum Mine, in South Africa.
The platinum miner said that a bus transporting workers from the
Ga-Maroga village was set alight by unknown individuals. As well as
those who died, 44 other workers also needed medical attention, the
company said.
Anglo American Platinum, which operates the mine as a joint
partner with African Rainbow Minerals, said that the mine's
management was working closely with the South African police, who
have launched an investigation.
