EU Clears Arkema To Buy Some Total Assets

The European Commission cleared Friday French chemical company
Arkema SA (AKE.FR) to buy some assets, including a resins business,
of France's energy giant Total SA (TOT).
"After examining the operation, the Commission concluded that
the transaction wouldn't significantly impede effective
competition," the body, which has antitrust powers within the
European Union, said in a statement.
