French chemicals company Arkema (AKE.FR) said Wednesday it completed the acquisition of the industrial applications specialty alcoxylate business of SEPPIC, a unit of French industrial gas company Air Liquide SA (AI.FR).

MAIN FACTS:

- Arkema had announced the acquisition on Nov. 8.

- This activity employs 50 staff and generated sales of EUR47 million in 2010.

- This new specialties range produced on a world-class site in Antwerp, Belgium, will enable Arkema to expand its specialty surfactant range intended in particular for niche markets such as warm asphalt mix for road construction, industrial detergency, and the oil and gas business.

- Arkema didn't disclose any financial details of the transaction.
