Banneker, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: BANI) -- Snoop Dogg kicked off his
national program, "Seniors Who Graduate," by donating Banneker's
Class of 2010 graduation jewelry -- rings, watches, earring and
medallions -- last Friday, June 11 at Long Beach Polytechnic High
School in Long Beach, CA where he graduated from in 1993.
Through this program, Snoop Dogg will work with other
celebrities, athletes, entertainers, corporations and their CEOs to
gift Banneker, Inc.'s graduation jewelry to seniors who graduate.
Jewelry will be given to students in areas where the dropout rates
are most prevalent and with the program expanding across the
country to other areas.
Snoop Dogg and Banneker Watches realize the additional incentive
needed for students to strive to graduate from high school. Dropout
rates are declining more and more. Snoop Dogg's philosophy is that
charity starts at home and then spreads abroad. This is why he
chose to gift Long Beach Polytechnic High School first. There are
1,114 graduates from Polytechnic this 2010 school year. There are
five young men and 12 young women who are graduating as
valedictorians with 4.0 grade point averages. Banneker's CEO,
Derrick M. Holmes, stated that he is elated to work with Snoop
Dogg, and Otis Williams particularly because they all share the
same vision of motivating young men and women to graduate from high
school. Banneker, Inc. will be working closely with Snoop Dogg to
bring in other key individuals to make this a nationwide
initiative.
