Biomagnetics Diagnostics Corp., (PINK SHEETS:BMGP) a developer
of revolutionary diagnostic systems and technology for HIV,
hepatitis, tuberculosis and malaria detection, and other innovative
technologies, today announced it has selected Lathrop Engineering
as its vendor to complete product design for the world’s first
integrated optical biosensor system. Over the coming weeks senior
personnel from Lathrop will work with the scientific staff at Los
Alamos National Laboratory to receive technical data on the IBOS
system to begin production design and miniaturization of the
device.
“As the collaborative research and development agreement with
LANL nears completion we are aggressively moving to the next phase
of development.” Clayton Hardman, president of Biomagnetics
continues, “We have selected one of Silicon Valley’s top
engineering firms, Lathrop Engineering, to complete this critical
phase.”
Biomagnetics Diagnostics believes the availability of this
portable, handheld technology will substantially lower the cost of,
and substantially raise the availability of, malaria, tuberculosis,
HIV/AIDS and cholera diagnosis and detection in many areas
throughout the world, potentially saving hundreds of thousands of
lives each year.
About Biomagnetics Diagnostics Corp.
Biomagnetics Diagnostics Corporation is an advanced medical
device and biotechnology company and an acquirer of other
innovative technologies. The Company’s revolutionary diagnostic
systems, which are based on advanced waveguide and magnetics
technologies, test for any virtually viral or bacterial disease.
The Company's technology allows laboratories to perform far more
tests in the same amount of time it takes to do a single test. The
HTS-MTP platform is designed to detect the actual virus and viral
load in body fluids and not just simply screen for the presence of
viral antibodies. Additionally, the Company is currently developing
a waveguide-based advanced integrated optical biosensor through its
cooperative research and development agreement with Los Alamos
National Security, LLC, which will initially be used for cholera,
tuberculosis and malaria diagnosis. More information on
