Ballistic Recovery Systems, Inc. (BRSI)(OTCBB:BRSI)(BRSparachutes.com), a manufacturer of whole-airplane parachute recovery systems for general aviation and recreational aircraft, reported today two separate parachute deployments bringing the total lives saved by BRS parachute systems to 203. A New Hampshire based pilot, during a test flight in a borrowed airplane, escaped death while testing a new wing. During the test he experienced serious roll control problems which led to a terminal unrecoverable spiral dive. The Trike he was flying was equipped with a BRS emergency parachute recovery system which he deployed. The Trike landed in the Connecticut River where the pilot was rescued by a nearby fisherman. The pilots normal Trike does not have a BRS parachute - yet. He had elected to use a different Trike, one equipped with the BRS parachute, to test the new wing. He now says he wont ever fly without a BRS parachute system again. This save was the second successful BRS parachute deployment during the same week. Save number 202 happened on the West coast in Lodi, California when an ultralight planes wing failed at about 2000 feet and the pilot used his BRS parachute system which had been originally installed in 1999. The ultralight landed in an orchard and the pilot was uninjured. According to the aircraft owners, the system is now on the way back to BRS for replacement. Based in South St. Paul, Minnesota, BRS is a company that designs, manufactures and distributes whole-plane emergency parachute systems for use on general aviation and recreational aircraft. Since 1981, BRS has delivered more than 27,000 parachute systems to aircraft owners around the world. To date, BRS parachute recovery systems have been credited with saving the lives of 203 pilots and passengers.
