Carrefour SA (CA.FR) said Monday that two of its partner
organizations in Africa have signed an agreement with e-commerce
platform Jumia that will allow the supermarket chain to sell its
goods online in four African countries.
The agreement covers Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Kenya,
Carrefour said.
Carrefour Group operates in Africa via franchises run by local
partners. Majid Al Futtaim group operates 250 stores in the Middle
East and Africa--including six in Kenya--while CFAO Retail group
has three stores in Ivory Coast and one in Cameroon.
Both Majid Al Futtaim and CFAO are part of the partnership with
Jumia, Carrefour said.
