SINGAPORE--Edmund Lee, the chairman and chief executive of DBS Vickers Securities, will join J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. (JPM) as senior country manager for Singapore, according to an internal memo seen by The Wall Street Journal on Wednesday.

Mr. Lee, who has almost 30 years of experience in the banking industry, "will lead the strategic development of the franchise in Singapore and oversee the delivery of the global platform across all lines of business in the country," according to the memo.

His appointment is subject to regulatory approvals, according to the memo.

Mr. Lee will fill the position created by the exit of Philip Lee, who joined Deutsche Bank AG (DB, DBK.XE) last month.

DBS Vickers is a securities and derivatives brokerage in Singapore and a unit of DBS Group Holdings Ltd. (D05.SB, DBSDY), the region's biggest bank by assets.
