Danske Bank AS (DANSKE.KO) on Thursday named Frans Woelders as
group chief operating officer with overall responsibility for group
services and IT, effective June 1, 2020 at the latest.
Mr. Woelders joins from Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC (RBS)
where he is chief digital officer for personal banking. Prior to
that, his experience comes from positions with ABN AMRO Bank NV
(ABN.AE), including as chief executive of retail banking and as
group chief information officer.
"He brings extensive experience from top management positions in
the financial sector and has delivered very good results both in
relation to the IT and retail banking areas and in terms of
bringing these areas closer together," said Danske CEO Chris
Vogelzang.
"This means that he is very well suited for supporting our
ambitions for developing our business in the coming years, where we
will invest in further digitalization across the bank."
Mr. Vogelzang will continue to fill the COO position until Mr.
Woelders takes up the position, it said.
