EssilorLuxottica said Thursday that it has signed a licensing
agreement with Capri Holdings' Jimmy Choo for the design,
manufacture, and worldwide distribution of the British fashion
brand's eyewear collections for the next ten years.
The agreement, with undisclosed financial details, will be
effective from Jan. 1 and run until Dec. 31, 2028. It has an
automatic renewal option of an additional five years, the companies
said.
Sandra Choi, creative director of Jimmy Choo, will lead the
development of the collections. The first collaborative work will
be available in the first quarter of the next fiscal year.
"Our collaboration will further strengthen the high-luxury
segment in the eyewear category," said Francesco Milleri, chairman
and chief executive of the Italian-French eyewear company.
