Great Wall Motor Co. (2333.HK) on Monday said its joint venture vehicle plant with Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW.XE) has received a business license.

Spotlight Automotive Ltd. got the license from the local authorities in the eastern Chinese city of Zhangjiagang, where the plant is based, Great Wall Motor Co. said in a stock exchange filing.

It will develop and manufacture both fossil fuel and new energy vehicles, the Chinese car maker said.

Great Wall Motor and BMW said earlier their China plant will produce electric versions of models from BMW's Mini brand as well as of Great Wall Motor models.
