Pharmaceutical giant Novartis (NOVN.VX) rises 0.56% ahead of fourth-quarter earnings scheduled for Wednesday morning, which analysts see rising 15% from the same period a year earlier. Crosstown rival Roche (ROG.VX), which reports a day later, adds 0.71%. Actelion (ATLN.VX), Europe's biggest biotech, climbs 1.8%. Banks rise, with Credit Suisse (CSGN.VX) up 0.54%, UBS (UBSN.VX) up 1.9% and Julius Baer (BAER.VX) 0.2% higher. Luxury watchmakers climb with Swatch (UHR.VX) adding 0.09% and Richemont (CFR.VX) rising 0.24%.
