J Sainsbury PLC (SBRY.LN) said Thursday that it has acquired all of U.S. company Aimia Inc.'s (AIM.T) U.K. business for 60 million pounds ($85 million).

Sainsbury's has now acquired all the assets, employees, systems and licenses for the full and independent operation of its U.K. Nectar loyalty program, it said.

Sainsbury's said that acquiring Nectar supported its strategy of knowing its customers well that there would be no change for customers as a result of the acquisition.
