Location Based Technologies to Showcase Public Safety and Tracking Solutions at APCO 2013

Location Based Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:LBAS), a leading
service provider of personal tracking GPS devices, announced today
that it will highlight its LBT-886 tracking solution in conjunction
with the Department of Energy’s (“DOE”) severe weather tracking
system to enhance public safety solutions at this year's
Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials (APCO) Annual
Conference & Exposition. Taking place in Anaheim, Calif. August
18-21, APCO is among the world's largest organizations of public
safety communications professionals, drawing officials from public
safety answering points (PSAPs), 9-1-1 centers, municipal law
enforcement and emergency responders for a variety of
education, exhibits and networking opportunities.
Today's law enforcement and public safety organizations (local,
county, state and federal) receive large amounts of information
from an array of sources, and therefore require advanced solutions
to help them capture and analyze reliable severe weather data in
order to respond with all necessary mobile assets in an appropriate
and timely manner and to better project restoral time for power,
water and telecommunications.
Location Based Technologies is working under a directive from
the DOE to incorporate LBT’s GPS tracking solutions into the DOE’s
weather tracking services. If the project is successful, public
utilities across the country could gain access to the DOE’s
LBT-enhanced system by purchasing tracking devices from LBT and
subscribing to a monthly service. LBT is also working closely with
Scout Industries and Zagcom Technologies on the integration
project. The ultimate objective is to enhance the way companies and
agencies respond to weather related crises and provide intelligence
that can be shared with the impacted population at large.
“LBT is excited to be working on such large scale public safety
opportunities,” said Dave Morse, CEO of Location Based
Technologies. “We will work closely with government agencies and
impacted utilities to deploy this new mobile asset tracking
capability to assist in the response and recovery process after
natural disasters.”
APCO’s theme for this conference is: Connect, Innovate and
Communicate. LBT’s high quality M2M solution integrated into
real-time severe weather mapping capability brings new
opportunities to accomplish APCO’s quest for enhanced public safety
during the worst of times and conditions.

capability.
