BEIJING, May 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Medical Care
Technologies Inc. (OTCBB: MDCE), a children's healthcare
service provider, today announced the geographical location for its
proposed children's health and wellness center. The City of Dongguan in southern China has been selected as the region of
choice to establish the Company's first flagship pediatric
clinic.
Dongguan, located in
Guangdong Province, was chosen
because of its progressive economics, recording 10.3% GDP growth
for 2010 and; for 2011, the city's government is expecting an 8.5%
GDP growth (Dongguan Today News). Dongguan forms part
of China's "MegaCity" project
where nine (9) cities will be formed into one. The MegaCity will
consist of over 42 million people and this integrated system will
allow residents to travel freely and use the health care system of
all the connected cities.
Medical Care's scouting team is currently sourcing prime areas
in Dongguan to erect a 3,000 –
5,000 square foot children's healthcare facility. It is expected
that the planned health clinic will serve a community and broader
metropolitan area of 10 million people, including more than 1
million children. The health center will also directly serve
the two (2) neighboring municipalities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen, home to over 25 million residents.
Management expects to decide on a final location for its first
children's health clinic before the end of its second quarter.
"It was evident early in the citing process that the
City of Dongguan was a perfect
choice to establish our flagship pediatric center," stated
Luis Kuo, Chief Operating Officer of
Medical Care. "Our scouting team has received immeasurable
assistance from the Dongguan
community, as well as significant support from a host of medical
professionals and civic leaders. There is a deep-seated
dedication to taking care of people here."
