VANE MINERALS PLC (VML.LN) said Wednesday fourth-quarter revenue
from its gold and silver operations in Mexico rose 74% to $2.4
million, in line with management expectations.
VANE has also adapted the crushing and processing facilities
attached to its Merrill Crowe plant to increase its day-to-day
processing capability by 20%, such that it is now able to process
up to 3,000 metric tons a month and expects production volumes to
grow accordingly.
At 1525 GMT shares +0.2 pence, or 29.6%, at 0.9 pence.
STV PLC (STVG.LN), a Scottish broadcaster, plans to continue
investing in its digital business this year, including the
configuration of its local news websites for use on mobile devices
in the second quarter of the year, its chief executive said.
Rob Woodward told Dow Jones Newswires that 56% of visits to its
websites are through mobile devices, adding: "With the continued
growing use of these devices, we're riding that wave." Configuring
websites for mobile devices involves adapting them so that they can
be easily viewed and used on smaller screens.
Shares up 13.5 pence, or 10.4%, at 143.0 pence.
SWEETT GROUP PLC (CSG.LN), a property and infrastructure
professional services company, said its contracted order book value
has exceeded 100 million pounds ($154.6 million) for the first
time.
Shares +3.5 pence, or 19.4%, at 21.5 pence.
KEA PETROLEUM PLC (KEA.LN), a New Zealand-focused oil company,
said it has received a 9% extension to the area of PEP 51155,
increasing the size to 286 square kilometers.
Shares -0.4 pence, or 3.6%, at 10.0 pence.
RED24 PLC (REDT.LN), a provider of assistance and risk
management services, said it has secured renewed three-year
contracts with two North American underwriters to provide crisis
management services on a retained basis, particularly, product
recall services, adding that the contracts are worth an aggregate
$996,000 a year.
Shares +0.9 pence, or 6.4%, at 14.6 pence.
SPECTRIS PLC (SXS.LN), a productivity-enhancing instrumentation
and controls company, reported a 12% rise in 2012 profit and said
it is well positioned for 2013 and beyond.
Shares +22.0 pence, or 0.9%, at 2,447.0 pence.
ELEMENTIS PLC (ELM.LN), a specialty chemicals manufacturing
company, said it has agreed to buy the assets of Hi-Mar Specialty
Chemicals, a U.S. coatings additives company, for $33 million in
cash.
Shares +1.4 pence, or 0.6%, at 236.2 pence.
GULF KEYSTONE PETROLEUM LTD. (GKP.LN), an oil company focused on
the Iraq's Kurdistan region, said its partner and the operator of
the Akri-Bijeel Block, MOL Nyrt. (MOL.BU), has announced an oil
discovery.
