Nissan Motor Co. expects production at its plant in St. Petersburg, Russia, to stop in the coming days, the Japanese auto maker said Monday, without providing a reason.

Nissan said it had also suspended exports of vehicles to Russia.

The company said it would spend 2.5 million euros ($2.7 million) to support the people of Ukraine as well as affected employees and their families as part of its humanitarian aid efforts.
