PCCW Proposes to Sell Broadband Business in UK

HONG KONG--Telecommunications service provider PCCW Ltd.
(0008.HK) said late Monday it is proposing to sell its UK broadband
business, Transvision Investments Ltd., for 300 million pounds
(US$373.8 million) to focus on developing other businesses such as
free TV services.
The Hong Kong-based PCCW said it agreed to sell the entire
capital of Transvision to Hutchison 3G UK Ltd., also known as Three
UK, a mobile network operator in the UK.
Three UK is a wholly owned subsidiary of CK Hutchison Holdings
Ltd. (0001.HK).
