German sportscar maker Porsche AG said Tuesday August deliveries
rose 21% on the year in all sales regions with particularly high
demand in the U.S. and China.
MAIN FACTS:
-Porsche delivered 10,912 cars to customers worldwide in
August.
-In the U.S., August sales were up 39% to 3,026 cars.
-Deliveries to China were up 28% to 2,882 cars.
-European deliveries increased the least of all sales regions,
up 13% to 2,830 cars in August.
-Demand for the 911 sports car and mid-engine Boxster sports car
was particularly high.
-"Automotive markets are developing quite differently:
uncertainty in Europe, competitive pressures in China, confidence
in the U.S., growth in the middle East and South-East Asia," board
member Bernhard Maier said.
