Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA (FRE.XE) Monday said it expects to
finalize the purchase of Rhoen-Klinkum AG (RHK.XE) hospital and
outpatient facilities early next year.
MAIN FACTS:
-Fresenius said its hospital management unit, Fresenius Helios,
will likely receive antitrust approval for a purchase deal, which
could include as many as 43 Rhoen-Klinikum hospitals and 15
outpatient facilities, in the first quarter of 2014.
-Rhoen-Klinikum's management board said it currently expects
only a few hospitals will have to be excluded from the scope of the
transaction and these would remain within the company or be sold on
the open market.
-Fresenius said the acquisition should likely add to earnings
per share in the first twelve months after closing, excluding
one-time costs, and said the acquisition will clearly be accretive
from the second year onwards, including one-time costs.
-Rhoen-Klinikum said it plans to reflect the sale in large parts
of its financial statements for 2013 in anticipation of the
transaction's approval by German competition authorities in early
2014.
