https://searchminerals.ca/news-media/news/search-minerals-to-receive-5-million-in-funding-from-the-government-of-canada-under-the-critical-minerals-research-development/

Vancouver, B.C. March 7, 2023 – Search Minerals Inc. (“Search Minerals”) (TSXV: SMY | OTCQB: SHCMF) is pleased to announce that the Government of Canada has contributed $5 million in non-dilutive support to Search Minerals via a Contribution Agreement which will be used to fund the construction and operation of a demonstration plant for rare earth extraction and recovery. The total project cost is estimated at approximately $9.3 million with a further $1 million of funding under application from other sources. Search Minerals’ contribution to the construction costs is expected to be approximately $3.3 million.

The demonstration plant will process ~20 tonnes of rare earth concentrate prepared from 72 tonnes of Deep Fox and Foxtrot mineralization using Wet High Intensity Magnetic Separation (Search Minerals News Release dated September 16, 2022). The work will be completed by SGS Canada and completion of the program is expected in early 2024.

The funding of the demonstration plant helps Search Minerals to:

Confirm application of the Direct Extraction Process to the rare earth concentrate materials
Obtain engineering data for feasibility study completion, expected in 2024
Prepare ~1 tonne of high purity mixed rare earth carbonate precipitate to be used to validate separation of individual rare earth products

“These funds will help us to move toward a bankable feasibility study assessment of rare earth mining, extraction and separation in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador,” said Chairman and Interim President and CEO Leo Power. “The demand for “magnet” rare earth elements such as neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium and terbium is increasingly rapidly driven by the demand for permanent magnets, for electric vehicle traction motors, wind turbines for power generation and for robots. This demonstration plant program will position Search as a reliable provider of rare earth materials to support a Canadian and North American supply chain for these critical materials.”

Mr. Power added, “We thank Natural Resources Canada, the Government of Canada and our other financial supporters for helping to fund this critical step in the transition of Search from explorer to developer.”

The Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Minister of Natural Resources Canada, said, “Canadian innovators are leading the way towards a cleaner future. Today’s investment of $5 million in Search Minerals will help to advance the development of a dynamic and competitive critical minerals sector through the development and demonstration of innovative processing technologies. This means good jobs for workers, more investment in Canadian innovation, and lower emissions across the country - all part of our plan to build a cleaner Canada and a prosperous, sustainable economy that works for everyone.”

Search Minerals is also working on establishing an important collaboration agreement with Memorial University and the College of the North Atlantic to support the Demonstration Plant project and to build capacity and knowledge in rare earth processing in Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada.

About Search Minerals Inc.

Search Minerals is focused on finding and developing Critical Rare Earths Elements (CREE), Zirconium (Zr) and Hafnium (Hf) resources within the emerging Port Hope Simpson – St. Lewis CREE District of South East Labrador. Search controls two deposits (Foxtrot and Deep Fox), two drill ready prospects (Fox Meadow and Silver Fox) and numerous other REE prospects, including Fox Valley, Foxy Lady and Awesome Fox, along a 64 km long belt forming a REE District in Labrador. Search has completed a preliminary economic assessment report for DEEPFOX and FOXTROT. Search is also working on three exploration prospects along the belt which include: FOX MEADOW, SILVER FOX and AWESOME FOX.

Search Minerals has continued to optimize our patented Hydrometallurgy Direct Extraction Process technology with the support from the Department of Industry, Energy and Technology, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and from the Atlantic Canada Opportunity Agency. We have completed two pilot plant operations and produced highly purified mixed rare earth carbonate concentrate and mixed REO concentrate for separation and refining. We also recognize the continued support by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador for its Junior Exploration Program.

Search Minerals was selected to participate in the Government of Canada Accelerated Growth Service (“AGS”) initiative, which supports high growth companies. AGS, as a ‘one-stop shop’ model, provides Search with coordinated access to Government of Canada resources as Search continues to move quickly to production and contribute to the establishment of a stable and secure rare earth element North American and European supply chain.

Chico , I hear ya , it's hard for me not to get discouraged with the price languishing below a dime. But I got to stay the course and hope a new CEO can turn things around. Greg sure seems like he wasn't doing much this last year beside collecting a good salary for a stock the was losing value. Going to hold till late 2025 or early 2026 and hope for the best. You never know keep it on your radar , if you see an opportunity that this is about to improve I'm sure you can jump back in .

Bomb- I know all about the resource. It is a wonderful resource. Unfortunately I have Lost all Faith in MANAGEMENT!
Management -“Screwed the Pooch!” They have lost my trust!
Imho- I hope USA rare earths takes over! I am no longer holding shares OR waiting for Greg’s “race to production!!”
Good luck!

Sorry didn't want to go to long on my previous post . Here is a little information for folks on how good this resource is. Many of you are into Search Minerals but also have stock in TMRC and and know about USA Rare earth.Well for the USA round top is the future to supply a large portion of rare earths TMRC owns 20 % of round top. If you look at multiple boards and disregard the Dragonbridge posts then the underlying theme is TMRC and USA Rare earths is about to explode in price. Well lets compare round top vs Search.you get the idea.As I said Search is only 20 % drilled this is going to probably go 40 to 50 mine life especially based on what they said about core sent from 2022 drilling program.Lets compare .
Rare earth Deep Fox/ Foxtrot Fox meadow Silver Fox Round top USA rare earth Comments
Pr 329- 381 ppm 264-322 ppm 10.37 ppm Search has 25 to 30 time the concentrate
Nd 1231-1427 ppm 1043- 1249 ppm 1212-1337 ppm 28.5 ppm (mean ) Search has 35 to 50 times concentrate.
Dy 179 -191 ppm 194-207 ppm 87-106 ppm 31 ppm Search has 3 to 6 times concentrate .
Tb 30-32 ppm 31.4 to 34.5 3 -4 ppm Search has 8 - 10 times concentrate.
Nb 278-316 ppm 381-440 ppm Round top has 30 - 50 % more .
Yb 94-104 ppm 57-58 ppm Search has 60- 70 % more.
Hf 246-314 ppm 570-596 ppm 86 ppm Search has 3 to 6 times concentrate

I think some people here are missing the point on Search Minerals the fundamentals of the resource hasn't changed. Okay so they over estimated the price . The rare earth observer report came out in June 2022 almost 10 months ago. The CAGR for rare earth is still 9.1 % .If you look at what the Government of Canada just gave out 14 million for 6 companies .Search got the largest amount . Look at the other 5 companies none mine what Search mines.. 2 are lithium miners, Geomega recycling ( name speaks for itself ) , one mines nickle and not exactly what Sherritt Inlt does but don't think they are into rare earths .I value chico and and Middle Border opinions and read multiple boards but this stock price wasn't going to move much before 2025 when they hopefully go into production. They won't generate any revenue before then so this for me was always a 5 to 8 year hold till 2025 or 2026. Remember what Warren Buffet said the stock market is a tool that transfers wealth from the impatient to the patient. Patients my friends our day will come. When they released there first PEA in 2016 they had a 14 mine life ( 8 years open pit and 6 years underground ) at 1000 tons a day . The updated PEA went to 26 years and 2000 tons a day essentially quadruple the resource.A big note is they have 24 zones names in labrador they have only drilled 4.Not even 20 %.eresearch report came out later based on current price . They are very highly respected research company , Chris Thompson estimated that at todays price and 2000 tons a day that it is a 1.70 for the stock in 2025. That a minimum 18 bagger in a couple of years. Sorry for being long winded but just retired lots of time on my hand and I live in Newfoundland . The island portion not up in labrador.

From the 2/28/23 "The Rare Earth Observer "

Search Minerals to Seek New CEO

Search Minerals Inc. announces that Mr. Leo Power has been appointed to the position of interim President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company following the termination by the Company on a without cause basis of the employment agreement with former President and Chief Executive Officer, Greg Andrews.

The Company and Mr. Andrews are in discussions to effect the termination and ensure a smooth transition.

We had calculated in our post of June 29, 2022, that the Search Minerals PEA overestimates revenue by almost twice the market prices of June 2022. The thus adjusted revenue will not allow any return of investment.

Market prices have fallen since.

But Greg Andrews may rather have become a victim of a stubbornly falling stock price

Chico; I do not know! The COO also left! (2nd article.) One person might leave for personal reasons, illness or retirement; 2 probably at the same time means the board was involved in some way. (European investors/board members.) Lets see if they find someone located a bit closer to Labrador and the mining site!

HEY MB! Wonderful post! I guess we are the "Turtle" on our RACE TO PRODUCTION! LOL
Hope all is well on your end mate! Endeavoring to Persevere .....
Nice to see Niobf making some waves.... could lift all boats "IF" what I think/speculate is happening there goes down i.e. (DoE loan guarantee).
I would imagine USA RARE EARTHS ROund Top project is also an applicant along with UCORE. (Ucore stated in a memo they wanted to do so back in late 2021.)

USA RE also wanted to go public via a SPAC. Waiting to see how this plays out. Until then ONGOING ACTIVITIES IT IS BRO!

Hey Chico! Searchminerals tends to go a long time between their news releases.

According to this his chart from https://searchminerals.ca/, we are in the "ongoing activities" phase. I think they are probably working on definitive feasibility study . (And probably looking for additional funding!)

I think we're both focusing on NioCorp and what we expect will be funding and a completed merger.

IF they continue to find funding can follow to this outline they might be starting up mining operations at about the same time as NioCorp. At this point investment in SearchMinerals requires a tolerance of risk and ability to hold, and probably an acceptance that there will be more dilution of share value. I am holding my shares and can wait.

I can imagine that USA Rare Earths/TMRC Round top project may have also put in an application to the DoE/LPO. USARE wanted to utilize a SPAC vehicle for finance back in 2021 but nothing ever happened. (They are bringing magnet production facilities & separation facilites on line soon... yet we here crickets! & they need $$$ too...)
The Round Top Project is one I believe will be placed into production alongside Niocorp & Search in the coming years. Standing pat with Search into 2023 as a Canadian Project the team & project merits stand tall imho!
Holing into 2023 like I said I would here!
KEEP an EYE out for American Rare Earths...(Shaping up to be the largest, clean, open pit REES in the U.S.)

Doug; Thanks! I think any poster here has a pretty good understanding of the risk of investing in Jr. Miner penny stocks. Buy lots of shares at a low price and wait for years (Years) and hope that a mine begins production. ( NIOBF)

Since this is a surface mine Search has an easier path to start up, but they have the same problems with financing in, I think, a contracting world economy. I would not be surprised to see them start production around same time as NioCorp (IF Search gets financing and NioCorp gets their merger with their SPAC).

Starting up production. You might look at DMEHF for a start up Helium extraction company that has a number of wells in place in AZ, has its facility manufactured and sited and is tuning it up to start production. ( Did not leave SearchMinerals or NioCorp, but got tired of companies with long waits till production start up and took a position in DMEHF.) Good cash position and off-take in place for for any hydrogen by product they extract or recover. In production 2nd quarter it sounds like.

Chico...the news is pretty thin lately! Maybe RS, maybe a private placement or additional warrents.

Small junior miner, sleepy winter in Labrador so they should be working on Financials and moving up from bench to Larger scale demo plant! Probably not much until March?

Anyway not the main investment for either of us I think! NioCorp and the GXII SPAC Merger is the immediate focus!

Chico, thanks! I am also monitoring. They need to get that funding, get permitted, and start production.

I had sold some shares at about US $.09 and purchased DMEHF, but at US $.05 I became a buyer again. Unless I see a lot of progress in a company, I need to move out of speculative stocks to stocks and bonds that produce a product or income.

Hey MB... Search continues to expand its resources & deposits along the entire beltway. I am waiting for news on Separation as the stock price has returned to near all-time lows. -(on the race to production...lol) My share price average is .8/sh but, just holding here now...
I would expect a reverse split at some point here as well in the future a much-needed partner (USARE??) sometime in 2023. 2023 is the make-or-break year for Search imho.
Search still stands out as the leading candidate for REE's in Canada right now in the sense that their team has just about figured everything out. Let's see what 2023 brings? Always said I would hold until then (2023)...

Dec 6, 2022; Search Minerals Completes Initial 2,000m Fox Meadow Phase 1 Drill Program

Vancouver, B.C. December 6, 2022 – Search Minerals Inc. (TSXV: SMY | OTCQB: SHCMF) (“Search” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that the planned 2,000 m of the FOX MEADOW Phase 1 drill program have been completed. FOX MEADOW, our third major REE mineralized zone, is located in the Port Hope Simpson – St. Lewis Critical Rare Earth Elements (CREE) District in SE Labrador. The drill program consisted of a total of 14 drill holes and 2000 m drilled. All drill holes have intersected visual REE mineralization similar to that observed on the surface. Our geology team will have all holes logged and sampled, with all samples sent for assay, in the next 10 days.

FOX MEADOW DRILL PROGRAM

The drilling commenced on November 11, 2022 and was completed on December 2, 2022.

Exploration:
One drill rig at FOX MEADOW drilled 45° holes from 100-208 m depth;
All drill holes were collared in or on the edge of mineralization;
All core is being lithologically, structurally, and geotechnically logged;
All logged intervals are being sampled for assay, tested for specific gravity and magnetic susceptibility.

Drilling Program Results:
We anticipate receiving all assay results by late spring 2023;
Visual REE mineralization has been observed in all drill holes

Drill Targets:
Extensive channel programs from 2013 to 2021 (see Search Minerals News Release May 5, 2022) have outlined numerous medium- to high-grade REE mineralized zones;
The current program targets high-grade REE zones identified at surface in order to trace them at depth;
The drill program is also designed to obtain preliminary information on the thickness of the Fox Meadow REE mineralization;
On surface the mineralization is presently open to the NW and SE along strike and to the SW, perpendicular to strike, in some sections.

Dr. Randy Miller, Vice-President, Exploration comments; “We are using the drill logging in combination with the surface channel mapping, outcrop mapping and magnetic data to develop a three-dimensional map of this extensive mineralized zone. We look forward to utilizing our information to develop an exploration program for FOX MEADOW for 2023.”

Greg Andrews, President/CEO states: “I would like to thank our team and our drilling operator, Springdale Forest Resources, for their dedication to complete the 2000m drill program before the end of the year. The drill program targeted high-grade zones in the core of the known surface extent of the mineralization. We wanted to trace the high-grade zone at depth and evaluate the overall thickness of the mineralized zone. The pending assays results should provide Search with the preliminary down hole data and the additional information to model our next steps in the development of this property.”

Andrews added:” Search Minerals will continue to seek strategic partners to advance our prospects in our extensive rare earth element land position. We believe a secure and sustainable rare earth element supply chain can be built in Newfoundland and Labrador, a very mining friendly and innovative technology-based jurisdiction.”

Chico; Thanks Buddy! The Development Timeline from Searchmineral's website.

Search intends to begin mining in 2025, about the same time as NioCorp. Their target minerals are REES, but possibly Zirconium and Hafnium as well. Search will be surface mining so initial development costs will be lower than Niocorp. Investors who can hold long term and are comfortable with risks associated with a mining stock might find this a good time to acquire shares at the current low price! (Think of all the people who bought NIOBF at $0.12/shr now!)

Everyone should evaluate their situation and the company and do their own due diligence before investing!

https://searchminerals.ca/investors/why-invest-in-search/

**Chico I still have shares in Search, but my major holding remains NioCorp.

I liked Enduro Metals and still do, but it is an exploration company with no income in the foreseeable future. (like the other two stocks!) I wanted a stock in or closer to production so sold ENDMF and purchased DMEHF, which has existing helium wells and and is assembling their extraction facility and expect to be selling their helium early next year. (They also have a joint operating agreement with Beam Earth Ltd. for hydrogen that was discovered in their shallow wells.)

Thanks MB... This is a final delineation of the combined resources (Foxtrot & Deep Fox) that should boost the projects economics & reduce Capex moving forward. Not all that different than the steps Niocorp has taken.
We may very well see a similar path as Search has just about finished proving final separation at their larger ongoing Demonstration Plant which is working in tandem with the Canadian Govt/Separation facilities.
Holding my position here...

Happy Turkey Day my friend!

Search Minerals Reports 14000m Deep Fox Phase 4 Drill Program is Completed
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/search-minerals-reports-14000m-deep-090000851.html
Resource Delineation and Exploration:
Drilled 63 holes for a total of 10,651 m of oriented core;
All core will be lithologically, structurally, and geotechnically logged;
All mineralized and selected non-mineralized intervals are being sampled for assay and tested for specific gravity and magnetic susceptibility;
Drilled several holes beyond the outer limits of the current mine pit design particularly towards the east;
Visual mineralization observed in every drill hole.

Geotechnical Program:
Drilled 13 holes for a total of 3,362 m of oriented core;
A total of 11 of the 13 holes intersected mineralization and will become part of a new 2023 resource estimate;
Selected holes had vibrating-wire installations (3), were surveyed with Optical Borehole Imaging (3), were surveyed with Acoustic Borehole Imaging (7) and had Packer Testing performed (6);

All core has been geotechnically logged;
Mineralized intervals in this core has been lithologically logged and sampled for assay similar to the Exploration program listed above;
Selected samples have been collected and sent out for further geotechnical testing at a geotechnical laboratory.

Next Steps of our Exploration Program:
We anticipate having all assay results and data interpretation complete to initiate the updated resource estimation by mid-2023.
We will continue our channel sampling programs at DEEP FOX and FOX MEADOW.

Dr. Randy Miller, Vice-President, Exploration, comments, “We have observed mineralization in all delineation and exploration drill holes and await assay results to determine the grades. Infill drilling has decreased the spacings between drill holes in the proposed open pit to improve our confidence in grades and tonnages for a upcoming 2023 mineral resource estimate. Based on visual results from this new drill data we expect the open pit to be larger and the resource to potentially increase in size.”

Greg Andrews, President/CEO, states, “We continue with our “Sprint to Production”, and this drill program should enable Search to provide an updated mineral resource estimate in 2023. Search Minerals is well positioned to build a secure, sustainable rare earth supply chain in Newfoundland and Labrador to supply Canada and our trading partners. Our goal is to be in production by the year 2026.”

Form your own opinions & conclusions:
IMHO:
"Search Minerals recent drilling program has closed all the gaps on their initial combined Mine Prospects DEEP FOX & FOX MEADOW. Incorporating final Ni-43-101 results into final pounds in the ground calculations sets SEARCH Minerals up nicely to boost NPV & economics moving forward. Production in 2026/2027 works for me! SEARCH should be announcing progress on ongoing Demonstration Plant soon!
***Nice to add to a position here. Note: this is a highly speculative stock & (Given outstanding shares a reverse split may be needed, or partnership BUY-IN (USARE) would work very nicely heeding into final F.S."
I would expect once final numbers & economics are calculated into a Final F.S. (For Open Pit Mine/s) the Capex may be reduced further to the $400-500 Million range as both Canadian, & Search Minerals will be able to separate concentrates! I am looking forward to seeing what USARE does moving forward as well. They will need to augment REE production to implement their plans moving forward, & are currently building separation & magnet capacities!!!!
Holding into 2023 like I stated...

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 07, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Search Minerals Inc. (TSXV: SMY | OTCQB: SHCMF) (“ Search ” or the“ Company ”) is pleased to announce the commencement of an initial 2,000m FOX MEADOW Phase 1 drill program . FOX MEADOW is the third major drill target in the Port Hope Simpson – St. Lewis Critical Rare Earth Elements (CREE) District in SE Labrador. The drill program is expected to commence shortly, as our drilling contractor mobilizes on site this week. The drilling is expected to be completed in early December, 2022.

FOX MEADOW DRILL PROGRAM

Exploration:
Approximately 8-12 oriented diamond drill holes;
One drill rig to be mobilized from St. Lewis to FOX MEADOW ;
All core will be lithologically, structurally and geotechnically logged;
All mineralized intervals will be sampled for assay and tested for specific gravity and magnetic susceptibility.
Drilling Program Results:
We anticipate receiving all assay results by late spring 2023.
Drill Targets:
Extensive channel programs from 2013 to 2021 (see Search Minerals News Release May 5, 2022) have outlined numerous medium- to high-grade REE mineralized zones;
The current program will target high-grade zones in the core of the known surface extent of the mineralization in order to trace them at depth;
The drill program is also designed to evaluate the overall thickness of the mineralized belt;
An on-going channeling program at FOX MEADOW is extending the mineralized zone to the south and southeast in anticipation of future drill programs;
On surface the mineralization is presently open to the NW, the SE and to the SW in some sections.

Dr. Randy Miller, Vice-President, Exploration comments:“The surface extent of the FOX MEADOW mineralized zone is larger than both DEEP FOX and FOXTROT (both 350-450m strike length and up to 40m thick). We anticipate needing additional channel programs and a much larger drill program in the future to fully explore the entire FOX MEADOW mineralized zone at depth and along strike.”

Greg Andrews, President/CEO states:“We are excited to mobilize to our FOX MEADOW prospect for an initial 2,000m drill program. This program will allow a first chance to generate preliminary down hole data as an extension of our channel sample program on surface. The growth drivers for the rare earth market remains the rare earth (permanent) magnets used in electric motors for electric vehicles and generators in wind turbines. R&H; You can't directly compare SHCMF and NIOBF.

Search target minerals are REEs. (With the addition of some zirconium and hafnium.) Their mines will be surface mines with the advantage of local communities and infrastructure so lower development costs.

The low cost per share makes this an attractive long term hold.

NioCorp has a stated target mineral group of Niobium, Scandium, and Titanium. The Elk Creek deposit has REEs but has yet to release the results of their demonstration plant so it is assumed that they will have sufficient recoverable amounts to justify a partial redesign of their planned extraction facility. NIOBF has announced financing in the form of a Merger.

eResearch Report on Search Minerals offers investors a ‘staggering’ volume of information on the rare earths market

Sep 28, 2099

Over the years I have lost count of the times I have recommended that public companies secure a research report, simply because I personally love the benefit of third-party analysis and metrics. Toss in an analyst with more financial degrees than most CFOs such as eResearch’s Chris Thompson, and the analysis can prove beneficial to everyone reading the content, including the company and all of us interested in critical minerals.

Read the complete article then reread the 1st paragraph to get the hot link to the actual report:

https://www.baystreet.ca/articles/stockstowatch/80965/Search-Minerals-Sprint-to-Production-to-Capture-Critical-Rare-Earth-Elements-Market-in-North-America

"Equity Research firm, eResearch Corp., recently published a 72-page Initiation Report on Search Minerals Inc. (TSXV:SMY | OTC:SHCMF) that is available to download for free at www.eresearch.com.

Search Minerals is exploring and developing a Rare Earth Elements (REE) project in southeast Labrador and a REE Processing Plant in Newfoundland, Canada. The company control two advanced REE resources, Deep Fox and Foxtrot, along with regional prospects, including Fox Meadow, Silver Fox, and the Red Wine District.

As it “Sprints to Production”, Search Minerals released an updated Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) report for the Deep Fox/Foxtrot project this summer and is now working towards the start of a Feasibility Study, additional project exploration and drilling, with mining production targeted for 2025.

Greg Andrews, President and CEO, recently commented, “We continue to work toward a feasibility study for the end of 2023, and the Deep Fox drill program should provide a measured resource category as well as expanded indicated and inferred resource for an updated mineral resource calculation expected in 2023.”

Search Minerals’ business plan is to supply a rare earth oxide (REO) mixed rare earth carbonate concentrate and/or a pure mixed REO concentrate to third-party REE separation facilities and refiners in North America to meet the increasing demand.

The company was valued by eResearch using an equal weighting of a Relative Valuation based on peers and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) built on the project’s economics from data in the company’s recent PEA. Search Minerals currently trades at a discount to its peers, including Ionic Rare Earths (ASX:IXR), Rainbow Rare Earths (LSE:RBW), and Texas Mineral Resources (OTC:TMRC). A detailed company valuation can be viewed in eResearch’s Initiation Report.

In eResearch’s report, there is a 15-page section that provides a solid overview of REEs and other companies in the sector. REEs are part of what governments, industry, and media are calling critical or technology metals. Critical metals are aptly named because they are irreplaceable in technology applications owing to their unique properties and cannot be substituted with any other element to obtain the required properties."

.....Snip......

"Chris Thompson, Director of Equity Research of eResearch wrote, “With investor and government support, Search Minerals has the potential for becoming a leading producer in the North American REE industry for Electric Vehicles and other high-tech industries.”

Search Minerals is currently trading around C$0.10 with a market cap of less than C$42 million, but due its recent PEA, near-term production focus, and the resource growth opportunities from its regional land package, the company has the potential for value creation."

Douginil; Chico Re Vital Metals plant:

https://vitalmetals.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/VML-saskatoon-unveiling.pdf

"Referencing Vital Metals’ impressive achievements, alongside the major investment by the provincially owned Saskatchewan Research Council, the Hon. Jonathon Wilkinson, federal Minister of Natural
Resources Canada, called the evolution of the rare earth industry “a generational opportunity” for Canada. “Ultimately our aim is to grow the supply of critical minerals and rare earth elements, and
position Canada as an indispensable nation within the global supply chain,” he said in a videotaped message to the Rare Earth Summit event."
...snip...
"high purity, mixed rare earth
carbonate. This product will be exported to REEtec in Norway and to Ucore in the United States for
separation into individual magnetic rare earth metals."

What is interesting is that Search lists as one of its REE Refining partners, along with USA Rare Earths, is the Saskatchewan Research Council that has been funding this plant for Vital Metals. Search Mineras has been sending its magnetically separated product to Saskatoon for further processing and extraction.

Search Minerals Provides 2022 Exploration Update
September 16, 2022
View PDF

Vancouver, B.C. September 16, 2022 – Search Minerals Inc. (TSXV: SMY | OTCQB: SHCMF) (“Search” or the “Company”), is pleased to provide an update on our 2022 exploration programs in Labrador, Canada.

Greg Andrews, President/CEO, comments: ” We have had a very busy exploration season so far this year. In addition to managing the exploration program, we expanded our exploration team and expanded our facilities and infrastructure in St. Lewis, Labrador. Search renovated its modern office and core shed facilities and built an additional storage shed to manage the increased drill core. We also purchased property in St. Lewis for our 2 – six-person trailers which are being utilized for our increased need for local accommodations.”

Andrews added; “We continue to work toward a feasibility study for the end of 2023, and the Deep Fox drill program should provide a measured resource category as well as expanded indicated and inferred resource for an updated mineral resource calculation expected in 2023.”

Deep Fox

The 2022 Deep Fox Exploration Program commenced in early June, following the mobilization of two diamond drilling rigs to St. Lewis, Labrador. The drill program has two main objectives: (i) further define and delineate the Deep Fox mineral resource, to update the mineral resource estimate suitable for a feasibility study, and (ii) collect the necessary geotechnical and hydrogeological data to facilitate an optimized mine planning and design process.

The first month of drilling was helicopter-supported, providing access to areas previously inaccessible due to the steep and rocky nature of the terrain. We have completed the Geotechnical and Hydrogeological drill program which utilized one of the drill rigs. The remainder of the drill program is being completed using the two track-mounted drills. The 2022 Deep Fox program is approximately 60% complete, with a total of 46 drill holes advanced to date. The remainder of the Deep Fox drilling program will focus on ensuring that the area within the currently proposed open pit has been adequately drilled, and that the mineral resource is aligned with the next phase of technical reporting. We are anticipating finishing the drill program by early November.

A summary of the 2 separate drilling initiatives are outlined below:

Mineral Resource Delineation Drilling

46 resource delineation drill holes completed to date (5,229 m);
All resource delineation drill holes have intersected mineralization;
3,437 lithogeochemical samples sent for assay - results pending; and
The drill program is anticipated to be complete by early-November.

Geotechnical and Hydrogeological Drilling

The geotechnical drilling program has been completed;
13 geotechnical drill holes completed (3,362m);
Two Vibrating Wire Piezometers (VWP) have been installed;
Packer tests were conducted in 6 of the geotechnical drill holes;
Samples have been collected for laboratory geophysical testing – results pending;
11 of 13 drill holes intersected mineralization and will contribute to the mineral resource; and
Assay samples have been collected from the mineralized zones.

Fox Meadow

Our exploration team will be carrying out a 200 m channel sampling program designed to extend the mineralized zone to the SE. We will review the possibility of a smaller drill program pending available personnel and funding.

Fox Valley

Exploration efforts in the Fox Valley area have consisted of the building of an access trail to the mineralized area, with the intention of conducting a preliminary assessment of surface mineralization. This trail is complete, exploration in this area will consist of test pitting and channel cutting, and is anticipated to be complete by the end of November.

Red Wine Complex

Our exploration team is planning a two-week helicopter-supported exploration program in the Red Wine area of central Labrador. Exploration will consist of prospecting, mapping, channel cutting, and detailed drone imagery on the Two Tom Lake, Mann #1, Narnia Hill and Merlot prospects. This preliminary program will prepare these REE mineralized zones for a more extensive exploration programs in 2023-2024.

Qualified Person:

Dr. Randy Miller, Ph.D., P.Geo, is the Company’s Vice President, Exploration, and is a “qualified person” (as defined by NI 43-101) and has supervised the preparation of and approved all scientific and technical information herein and has conducted appropriate verification on the underlying data. The Company will endeavor to meet high standards of integrity, transparency, and consistency in reporting technical content, including geological and assay (e.g., REE) data.

Search Minerals Completes Magnetic Separation of Bulk Samples at SGS Canada
https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2022/09/16/2517755/0/en/Search-Minerals-Completes-Magnetic-Separation-of-Bulk-Samples-at-SGS-Canada.html
VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 16, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Search Minerals Inc. (TSXV: SMY | OTCQB: SHCMF) (“Search” or the “Company”), is pleased to announce that two bulk samples of mineralization from Deep Fox and Foxtrot have been processed in our PHASE 1 magnetic separation program at SGS Canada (Lakefield) (“SGS”). The Deep Fox sample comprises 53 metric tonnes recovered from the exposed surface of the deposit. Similarly, the Foxtrot sample comprises 20 tonnes of surface material.

The SGS program involved bench scale work to test the amenability of the two samples to magnetic separation and then the execution of a continuous pilot plant operating at ~550 kg per hour of feed material over 15 separate pilot plant periods to produce a pre-concentrate of iron by Low Intensity Magnetic Separation (LIMS) and a rare earth concentrate by Wet High Intensity Magnetic Separation (WHIMS) and a final tailing material for environmental testing.

The results of the magnetic separation pilot plant on the two bulk samples were in line with expectations.

Highlights of the program were,

The total rare earth recoveries were high, at 88-90% for Deep Fox and 84-85% for Foxtrot.
The rare earth concentrate grades were upgraded from ~1% TREO + Y to 3.2% TREO + Y for Deep Fox and 3.7% TREO + Y for Foxtrot.
The pilot plant testing demonstrated a good magnetic separation performance at a coarser primary grind size (P80 ~100 µm) than that of the batch tests.
The metallurgical performance was steady over the pilot plant operation.
A total of ~13.8 tonnes of Deep Fox Rare Earth Concentrate and ~5.1 tonnes of Foxtrot Rare Earth Concentrate were produced.
The Deep Fox and Foxtrot Rare Earth Concentrates will be used in Search’s Phase 2 development program in the Sprint to Production to extract and recover high grade/high purity mixed rare earth concentrate product using Search’s Direct Extraction Technology.
A total of ~1.74 tonnes of Deep Fox LIMS concentrate grading 94.9% Fe2O3 and ~1.2 tonnes of Foxtrot grading 87.4% Fe2O3 were recovered and will be studied as a potential by-product, ie: iron ore.
Approximately 5 tonnes of non-magnetic material were collected after the magnetic separation. This material will be characterized for dry-stackable tailings disposal and possible by-product use as a sand material for the construction industry.
Dr. David Dreisinger, Director/Vice-President of Metallurgy states; “The results of the testing on the two bulk samples were in line with expectations and provide a basis for “scale up” of the commercial facility. The availability of approximately 18.9 tonnes of rare earth concentrate allows us to move to our larger scale testing of the Direct Extraction Process. The benefit of producing a concentrate, using the grinding and magnetic circuit, prior to our proprietary Direct Extraction Process, is the reduction in size of equipment and reduced chemical and energy use to obtain similar overall recoveries of saleable rare earth elements.”

Greg Andrews, President/CEO states; “We continue with our “Sprint to Production” and this is a very important step to scale up and produce more material for further separation into individual oxides of the permanent magnet material, Neodymium (Nd), Praseodymium (Pr), Dysprosium (Dy) and Terbium (Tb). These are the key elements which create the value in the rare earth element supply chain. Upon producing the oxides, we are seeking co-funded government programs to process the 18.9 tonnes of rare earth concentrate using our proprietary Direct Extraction Process to produce approximately 1t of mixed rare earth oxide concentrate for further separation processing. Ultimately, Search will demonstrate the transformation of the permanent magnet oxides into metal as a precursor to magnet fabrication.”

Qualified Person:

Dr. David Dreisinger, Ph.D., P.Eng, is the Company’s Vice President, Metallurgy, and Qualified Person (as defined by National Instrument 43-101) who has supervised the preparation of and approved the technical information reported herein. Spending details of $3.8 billion Critical Minerals Strategy expected in Fall, says government
https://www.northernminer.com/news/spending-details-of-3-8-billion-critical-minerals-strategy-expected-in-fall-says-government/1003845910/
Details of how the federal government plans to spend its multi-billion dollar Critical Minerals Strategy will be announced sometime in the Fall, says Natural Resources Canada.

The Strategy was announced in April as part of Budget 2022 and earmarks up to $3.8 billion over eight years starting in 2022-2023 to advance critical mineral exploration, development and supply chains.

In an email to The Northern Miner, Natural Resources Canada spokesperson Anthony Ertl said there is not yet a forecast date for the Strategy’s release.

The release of the spending strategy will follow the closure on Sept. 15 of a consultation period that began on June 14.

The Strategy will be based on comments received from the Critical Minerals Strategy Discussion Paper released by Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson at the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada conference in Toronto in June.

The discussion paper states that of the 31 minerals considered critical for sustainable economic success in Canada, six are being prioritized for early development: lithium, graphite, nickel, cobalt, copper, and rare-earth elements.

Highlights of the $3.8 billion scheme include $1.5 billion for new infrastructure investments for new mineral projects in critical regions, such as the Ring of Fire in northern Ontario; another $1.5 billion for new critical minerals projects, with a focus on mineral processing, materials manufacturing and recycling; and a doubling of the Mineral Exploration Tax Credit for specific minerals such as nickel, copper, cobalt, rare earths elements and uranium.

With the consultation deadline fast approaching, submissions can be emailed to Natural Resources Canada’s Critical Minerals Centre of Excellence at cmce-cemc@nrcan-rncan.gc.ca.

Doug; Chico; No...I think there is enough dissatisfaction with the delay on the kiln. No reason pile on! ( All I can think of is that L3 ordered that kiln from some factory in Eastern Ukraine?)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Neodymium magnets; Something else interesting; Here is an organization that says they are developing a small fusion (fusion) reactor that uses hydrogen/boron as fuel. Uses neodymium magnets in a small ceramic focusing chamber. (Claims Fusion since hydrogen atoms are combined and converted into Helium. No ponderous tokomak costing millions which uses arrays of computer tuned electromagnets to produce magnetic plasma containment fields! No radioactive waste products, no need to store waste products for geologic periods of time! ) I wonder if something else is happening or happening in a more controlled way since their lab has not been vaporized by the release of energy?

I will just say that I do not have enough physics and chemistry back ground to really assess this.

PrimerFusion Part 1

PrimerFusion Part 2

https://primerfusion.org/

"Our new PrimerFusion reactor will utilize high-temperature ceramic components and a mineral oil cooling system in critical areas. Plus, we have increased the reactor's magnetic flux density with higher strength neodymium magnets in the bowl-shaped magnetic arrays. These improvements will allow us to operate this new PrimerFusion reactor at much higher energy levels, temperatures, and plasma densities than in our previous experiments."

Sounds too good to be true, but seems worth following.

Notably, I do not see anything that says they realize more energy in than out, but they are still in the development stage. so....watching. Have to see that, and how they would convert the heat into mechanical or electrical power.

(It would be a total hoot if someone developed a small fusion reactor in his basement using a mostly off the shelf parts and a plastic parts printer! Here's hoping that they do and we have shares in companies that mine and process the needed minerals. They are a not for profit...or I would look at purchasing shares.)
