Speedus to Review Strategic Alternatives for Wireless Patents Portfolio NEW YORK, March 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Speedus Corp. (NASDAQ:SPDE) announced today that it is actively soliciting proposals related to its portfolio of 43 domestic and international wireless broadband patents. Speedus is exploring options that will allow it to leverage these assets, including joint venture opportunities and licensing arrangements. Communication companies have recently demonstrated a heightened interest in broadband wireless, including the deployment of networks using fixed Wi-Fi and WiMax standards. As a result, Speedus believes this is an opportune time to maximize the value of its wireless patents by identifying companies that are likely to have an interest in the portfolio to support and protect their own wireless broadband strategies. Speedus owns a total of 43 patents in 22 countries. The Company also has 21 patents pending, which will extend the reach of the portfolio into an additional six nations.
