Density Dynamics Targets its Green Product Line on Data Center
Crisis for Storage and Energy with Solid State Data Acceleration
Technology WASHINGTON, Oct. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Density Dynamics
Corporation, a majority-owned subsidiary of Speedus Corp.
(NASDAQ:SPDE) and pioneer of Green solid RAM storage devices,
announced today that it released its new SRD product line from
R&D to its first production run. The SRD product line responds
to the high performance requirements of transaction oriented data
centers and the energy use problems identified by IBM Project Big
Green (http://www-03.ibm.com/press/us/en/pressrelease/24395.wss)
The SRD product line also addresses the performance, cost and
footprint issues facing IT globally. The SRD technology platform
delivers cutting edge solid-state storage combined with a
proprietary power management system that significantly lowers power
use when compared with traditional storage products. Capacities of
16GB, 32GB, 48GB and 64GB are delivered in a 3.5" Industry Standard
footprint as well as in 1U and 3U chassis. In customer and
independent testing, the products have exhibited 200,000+ IOPS and
12 Watts of power draw at 64GB. The Green SRD products, built and
designed in the USA, are currently being evaluated by several large
corporations worldwide. "For high performance intensive
applications, SRDs provide dramatically more efficient solutions
compared to traditional implementations," said Dave Wilkerson,
Chief Technology Officer of Density Dynamics. "This efficiency
provides simple configurations using high performance devices
instead of layers of software and hardware on top of inherently
slow spinning drive technology. The end result is dramatic savings
in capital and operating cost, rack space, and operational
complexity," Wilkerson added. "We are making the datacenter more
efficient across the board," said Kevin Gonor, President and COO of
Density Dynamics. "Applications requiring performance such as high
transactional databases, data mining, scientific simulations, 3D
modeling, Medical Imaging, web content delivery and visualization
will benefit significantly," said Gonor. Density Dynamics
Corporation was formed in March 2008 and capitalized by Speedus
