Samsung Looks to Invest $10 Billion to Build New Texas Chip-Making Plant, Bloomberg Reports

-- Samsung Electronics Co. is looking to invest more than $10
billion to build a new chip-making plant in the U.S., Bloomberg
reports, citing unnamed sources.
-- The South Korean memory chip and smartphone maker is in talks
to locate a site in Austin, Texas, and the facility is expected to
be capable of making chips as advanced as 3 nanometers in the
future, Bloomberg reports.
-- The firm preliminarily aims to begin construction this year,
install major equipment from 2022, and start operations as early as
2023, according to Bloomberg.
