ALBANY, N.Y. and EATONTOWN, N.J., Dec. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- StratoComm Corporation (STCO) Chairman & CEO offers this corporate status statement. (Logo: http://www.newscom.com/cgi-bin/prnh/20071024/NYW094LOGO) Cameroon The process toward system turn on has been slowed by logistical challenges. The Network Operations Center building is completed, the fiber cable is available and we await delivery of the remaining equipment. Upon receipt of delivery confirmation StratoComm personnel will immediately travel to Douala to complete equipment installation, cable connection and system turn on. The process in Cameroon has provided a real time learning curve of the challenges to be met in the introduction and turn on of StratoComm's proprietary telecommunications technologies. This experience will benefit the company going forward and make the process more efficient as we continue to progress toward our objectives. Kron Finance & Investment, Ltd. In early October, at a meeting in New York City, Kron Finance's Chairman, Mr. Nartey, advised StratoComm of a newly formed Ghanian company named Kron Telecom which is based in Accra, Ghana. Also attending the meeting was the recently appointed CEO of Kron Telecom, Mr. Buah. It was agreed that Mr. Buah would travel to StratoComm's facilities in Eatontown for the purpose of detailed technical review and demonstration of StratoComm's proprietary telecommunications payload. Mr. Buah attended meetings in Eatontown during the first half of November during which he successfully placed a call through StratoComm's system to his colleague, Mr. Nartey who at the time was in Accra, Ghana. Mission Accomplished! The call went through directly and the connection was of the highest quality. Kron Telecom is the entity with which StratoComm will engage for the formation of a Joint Venture Operating Company in Ghana. At present the process of negotiation of the working JV Agreement is nearing completion at which point terms for deployment of a StratoComm Corporation Transitional Telecommunications System will be defined and agreed. Stratospheric Tests As reported in September StratoComm is actively engaged in efforts toward a collaboration specific to establishing location and a reliable timeline for commencement of its stratospheric flight tests. Those discussions have progressed and will continue for the next several weeks. It is reasonable to anticipate a further announcement during January. Regulatory Effort As has been reported previously it is of critical importance that StratoComm Corporation continue its efforts within the International Telecommunications Union to assure availability of required frequencies to support its stratospheric services, once commercially available. To that end Mr. Roy Larosa and Dr. Y.C. Lee, CTO recently returned from Geneva, Switzerland having participated in the ongoing process for frequency allocation. This round of meetings was preparatory to a presentation for frequency approval as negotiated with all industry players. Preliminary indication is that Mr. Larosa's and Dr. Lee's efforts were successful. "I remain fully confident that StratoComm is about to position a defining cornerstone upon which its continued progress and ultimately its success will be supported. Although 2009 results to date have not met expectations, the company has clearly realized solid progress in its ongoing market development efforts while in the midst of the most challenging economic period of our generation," stated Mr. Roger D. Shearer, StratoComm CEO. Shearer concludes, "The continued loyal support of its shareholders, staff and management has enabled StratoComm to remain on track for success in spite of the very challenging economic environment presently confronting all businesses. I wish a joyous holiday season to all." StratoComm Corporation is a developer and provider of telecommunications infrastructure technologies with a specific focus to the delivery of ubiquitous and cost sensitive communication services to the developing world. The company is further committed to the allocation of a portion of each system's service capacity for the provision of low cost/no cost social and economic outreach programs.
