Item 7.01. Regulation FD Disclosure.
On January 5, 2023, H. Michael Schwartz, Chief Executive Officer of SmartStop Self Storage REIT, Inc. (the “Company”) will participate in a panel presentation at the KeyBanc Capital Markets Self Storage Investor Forum in a panel titled: Private Operators: What's in Store for 2023; Assessing the Current Landscape. Mr. Schwartz expects to discuss his views on the self storage industry and the following metrics for the Company’s 2022 same-store pool:
•Physical occupancy was 93.2% as of November 30, 2022, which represents a 2.3% decrease year-over-year and a 0.5% decrease month-over-month.
•Asking rates as of November 30, 2022 were up 3.2% year-over-year and down 9.3% month-over-month.
•In-place rates as of November 30, 2022 were up 11.9% year-over-year and up 1.1% month-over-month.
