BAKER CITY, OR announced today its decision to open a new sales office in Alberta, Canada following promising sales prospects from the Global Petroleum Conference.

"The Canadian Oil and Gas market is an unbelievable opportunity for us," stated Mr. Kevin Chambers, CEO of Universal Systems. "The discussions we've had during this conference confirmed our initial thoughts about having a Company presence in Canada. The decision to open an office here was already in the works, but due to such a positive response this week we decided to expedite the opening."

The Company plans to aggressively market its wastewater treatment solution to the natural gas, coal bed methane, tar sands and heavy oil drilling sectors of northwest Canada. As such, USI will be one of only a few companies that offer wastewater recycling services to such a marketplace today. Most oil and gas companies in Canada currently choose to handle their wastewater concerns by ground reinjection rather than recycling. Although, this method is very common in the industry, it's not always the most practical or environmentally safe method to use to dispose of excess wastewater.

To oversee USI's Canadian sales effort, USI has appointed Kraige Smerdal of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada to become the Company's Western Canadian Operations Manager.

Mr. Kraige Smerdal commented, "I am very excited about the opportunity to work with Universal Systems. Their products and services are a perfect fit for the current wastewater recycling needs here in Northwestern Canada. We launched our Canadian sales and marketing efforts this week during the Global Petroleum Conference and have already been approached several major companies and we have identified more than 20 potential customers."

Mr. Smerdal has come to us with extensive knowledge of the Canadian markets and has worked in management teams of such companies as Neufeld Petroleum, Parkland Industries, Panda Tank & Vac and Endeavor Logistics. With the knowledge of changing market trends and the ability to think outside of the box he will assist in spearheading this project and many others for USI. With a long list of clients in the oil and gas sector, Kraige will be fundamental in leading USI to new markets within Canada.

We are coming into a new age where water, which was once taken for granted, has now turned into a commodity. The future is in the recycling and reuse of this precious product, this is where USI excels and will be an industry leader. "We are pleased to have Mr. Smerdal join our team. We look forward to working with him in Canada to capture this 'untapped' marketplace," added Mr. Chambers.

About Universal Systems, Inc.

Universal Systems, Inc (USI) is a publicly traded holding company focused on providing economically and ecologically viable water and wastewater treatment solutions. USI offers a FULL SERVICE turn-key water treatment services, specializing in "slop oil" and CBM (Coal Bed Methane) produced water.

In 2007, USI obtained an exclusive worldwide licensing agreement to provide slop oil and processed wastewater treatment services to the oil industry. The company's mission is to become the leader in the development and delivery of cost effective slop oil and processed wastewater treatment. USI joined Powell Water Systems, Inc. (PWS) and Water Solutions, LLC (WS) to bring PWS's patented electrocoagulation technology to the oil industry, making large flow waste oil, and water treatment efficient and cost effective.

More recently, USI has discovered the immediate need to become involved in building, owning, and operating central produced water processing facilities. This service is widely needed wherever natural gas is produced; the diminished capacity to handle processed water from natural gas production is causing some production wells to be shut in until alternative-treating plants can be brought on line. As tougher water discharge regulations are being imposed, the need is becoming even greater.

USI's business plan for expansion includes the purchase or acquisition of other specialized trade service companies that will complement and enhance the overall product and service offering of the company.
