VLEEY Valeo SE (PK)

French vehicle parts maker Valeo SA (FR.FR) and aerospace equipment supplier Safran SA (SAF.FR) Wednesday signed a partnership to conduct research in driving aid and autonomous vehicles to speed up the development of new products in assisted and self-driving solutions for automobiles, military vehicles and aircraft.

MAIN FACTS:

- In its initial phase, the program will focus on four main research areas.

- Research on driver attention monitoring and 360° visibility could lead to the development of technical solutions by 2014.

- Research on visibility in extreme weather and vehicle robotization/dronization are more long-term, with completion expected between 2014 and 2016.
