Wood Group provides automation engineering services for ExxonMobil Chemical
petrochemical project
HOUSTON, February 26, 2015 - Wood Group is providing process control systems
detailed engineering, procurement and fabrication services for the
multi-billion dollar expansion project by ExxonMobil Chemical Company at the
Baytown and Mont Belvieu plants near Houston. The work is being performed by
Wood Group Mustang's (WG Mustang's) Automation and Control business unit.
WG Mustang Automation and Control's multi-million dollar project scope includes
procurement, integration and packaging of the distributed control systems,
safety instrumented systems, analyzers, information and telecommunications
systems, and other associated equipment that will help the expanded plants to
run safely, efficiently and within environment regulations.

interfaces and ensure alignment and cooperation with the EPC contractors,"

early engagement is resulting in a fit-for-purpose design that will ensure the
automation systems provide ExxonMobil Chemical with the best-possible
operability and cost-effective solutions."

ExxonMobil Chemical's multi-billion dollar project will add an ethane cracker
with capacity of up to 1.5 million tons per year of ethylene to the Baytown
Olefins Plant and two new 650,000 tons per year polyethylene lines to its Mont
Belvieu Plastics Plant. The project is the largest-ever investment in the U.S.
