KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.,
Feb. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Medical
Alarm Concepts Holding, Inc. (OTCQ:MDHI), manufacturer of the
MediPendant™, the first fully-monitored medical alarm system that
allows the user to speak and listen directly through the pendant,
today provides investors with an update on current initiatives. The
following comments are from Medical Alarm Concepts Holding, Inc.
CFO and President, Ronald Adams.
"We have been working on several initiatives and feel very
strongly about the success of these programs. These are some
of the highlights…
- We are moving forward with our proposed merger with
Carrollton, Texas based
FirstFitness Nutrition Inc. Both companies are in the process of
doing their due diligence and are working aggressively to complete
this merger. FirstFitness has a more than 21-year history in the
nutritional field and currently operates in all fifty U.S. states.
Their marketing initiatives currently support thousands of
independent distributors who sell the Company's products to tens of
thousands of customers. Under the terms of the agreement, a new
subsidiary named FirstFitness Nutrition will be created within
Medical Alarm Concepts Holding, Inc. A new CEO for the combined
operation will be named upon closing of the merger. While the
merger is moving forward at a rapid pace, we are working to ensure
that everything is done properly so that the merger will be
beneficial to all.
- Our plan to introduce the MediPendant™ in the nation's largest
wholesale club is currently moving ahead as
planned. "There are several operational procedures
processes to put in place to ensure orders are gathered and
fulfilled properly," said Paul
Green, VP of Sales and Marketing at Medical Alarm Concepts.
Customer satisfaction is a priority for both organizations, so we
will not launch until all customer service criteria is met. We feel
confident that the program will be live within the next couple of
months."
- The results of media test for our newest commercial are very
positive. We had a high volume of callers, some who ordered the
service on the initial call, and a large number requesting
additional information as well. "A medical alarm isn't typically an
impulse purchase item," said Jennifer
Loria, VP of Corporate Development at Medical Alarm
Concepts. "So it is not unusual to see an increase in follow up
calls and Internet traffic as much as 30 days after the initial
airing. The good news is that based on our initial numbers, both
Harrington MultiMedia and Medical Alarm Concepts feel comfortable
with the results of the test, and plan to move forward." We will be
airing the two minute commercial aggressively over the next few
months. We are also working with Harrington on several other
initiatives that will be announced shortly.
We strongly believe that these initiatives will significantly
accelerate our growth. And we are also working on several
international programs that we plan to announce shortly as well. I
will continue to update you on our progress as often as
possible."
About Medical Alarm Concepts
Medical Alarm Concepts Holding, Inc. (MAC) develops and
manufactures innovative products and practical solutions within the
framework of a vast growing marketplace. MediPendant's™
patented two-way voice technology enables the user to speak and
listen directly through the pendant no matter where the user may be
in and around their home. MediPendant™ service also includes
advanced features such as three-way calling that enables the
operator to link loved ones directly into the emergency call in
real time. Text message alerts are also standard, and are used to
inform loved ones that the user has contacted an operator or has
requested assistance. A standard PERS system does not enable the
user to speak and listen through the pendant, thus limiting them to
a small area in their home. For more information, please visit our
