KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.,
April 4, 2012 /PRNewswire/
-- Medical Alarm Concepts Holding, Inc. (OTCQB: MDHI.PK),
today announced several significant feature and function
enhancements to its patented, MediPendant™ personal medical alarm
system. The MediPendant™ is different from most medical alarms on
the market today because it allows for two-way voice technology,
enabling the user to speak and listen directly through the pendant
no matter where the user may be in or around their home.
Additionally, the Company is announcing its first international
sales, and is providing its investors with an update on the
MediPendant™ marketing programs.
Several new features have been added to the product, the most
important of which is a significant increase in battery life when
the device is in standby mode. The MediPendant™ can now operate for
a year and a half on a single battery, due to the addition of a new
sensor technology that more quickly places the device into
battery-saving standby mode. Additional important enhancements to
the product are: improved waterproofing, which allows the product
to be rated to a higher standard of water-resistance, and a new
soft-touch emergency button with a 'click' confirmation, so that
there is no second-guessing if the button has been activated.
"We have added some important enhancements to the MediPendant™.
These enhancements further improve our advanced functionality, and
place us even further ahead of other personal medical alarm
devices," commented Ronnie Adams,
President of Medical Alarm Concepts. "We have also
completed work on the implementation of a new software platform
that will allow even faster response times when customers need
help. Our marketing efforts for the MediPendant™ are on track and
shipments are accelerating at a rapid pace. While it is a very busy
time for all of us at the Company as we begin our MotorBooster™
radio promotion in more than two dozen cities on April 15th, our MediPendant™ related marketing
programs continue to accelerate and there has been, and will
continue to be full attention given to both products."
The Company believes that it is in a very good position. The
inventory orders we have recently paid for are due to arrive over
the coming weeks, the gross margin from which will cover nearly all
of our monthly overhead expenses through the end of this year.
Additionally, the Company is beginning to realize results
from the sales efforts of Cuore, a specialized 420 seat
telemarketing and sales center organization that specializes in
converting interested shoppers of a certain demographic into
newfound buyers. The Cuore/MediPendant™ program began just a few
weeks ago.
Mr. Adams continued, "For quite some time the MediPendant™ has
had Spanish language capability, but we have recently begun
enhancing the language capabilities to enable the device to be
utilized in other countries. We are pleased to announce that
we have begun shipments to International locations including the
following: St. Vincent and the Grenadines, St.
Lucia, Barbados,
Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Monsettrat, Trinidad and Tobago, Dominica, Anguilla, Jamaica, St.
Kitts and the Nevis. We are
in process of completing an additional order bound for the European
market. They have already ordered servers and software
compatible with the MediPendant™. Our European partner has tested a
customized sample of the MediPendant™ in their native language with
success. They are currently in the process of translating the
manuals and additional supplemental materials. Once that task is
complete, they plan to place a substantial order. We will
continue to enhance our MediPendant™ feature/function set and
language capabilities to maintain our technical edge in the market.
We are very pleased with the progress of the MediPendant™
program."
About MDHI
MDHI is a marketer of innovative consumer driven products.
The Company's flagship product is the MediPendant™, a patented
two-way voice technology that enables the user to speak and listen
directly through the pendant no matter where the user may be in and
around their home. MediPendant™ service also includes advanced
features such as three-way calling that enables the operator to
link loved ones directly into the emergency call in real
time. Text message alerts are also standard, and are used to
inform loved ones that the user has contacted an operator or has
requested assistance. A standard PERS system does not enable the
user to speak and listen through the pendant, thus limiting them to
a small area in their home. There is always the risk that the user
will not be heard by the call center operator if not within a short
range of the base station. For more information, please visit
