Business Wire
Westlin Corporation (Pink Sheets:WSTN) is pleased to announce that
it has entered into a joint venture with CellCast LLC to deploy
their state-of-the-art cell broadcast emergency alert system. This
joint venture is focused on providing Gulf Coast Federal and State
agencies with access to the system for almost instantaneous
notification to large groups of the population via cell phone SMS
(Text Messages). The cell broadcast technology is used with almost
all existing carriers and allows authorized emergency management
personnel to initiate critical alerts to geographical areas of the
population for notices such as evacuations or impending weather
phenomena such as tornados and hurricanes. The cell broadcast
system will be housed in a SCIF-compliant area of the Westlin
bunker to ensure physical and cyber security. Access to authorized
users will be enabled via secure network connections from anywhere
in the country. "Our affiliation with Westlin offers us the highest
level of security, which is vital to assuring effective and valid
emergency alert notifications," said Douglas Weiser, founder of
CellCast Communications. "International trust protocols for
authenticating messages have been established. Our association with
Westlin assures these protocols may be honored and the emergency
alerts delivered." "We're pleased to have the CellCast system
operating from the bunker," said David Herr, President of Westlin.
"The potential for this unique system is not available anywhere
else in the United States. We believe that the deployment of this
system will save lives when used by emergency management officials
and will be adopted nationally after its initial rollout here in
the Gulf Coast." About Westlin Corporation Based in Houston, Texas,
