EU Commission approves Sydsvenska Kemi's acquisition
The European Commission has decided, subject to certain conditions, to approve
Sydsvenska Kemi AB's planned acquisition of Perstorp AB. Sydsvenska Kemi AB is
owned by Industri Kapital 2000, a venture capital fund, controlled by Industri
Kapital. The European Commission has approved the undertakings proposed by
Sydsvenska Kemi. This was announced in press releases issued by both parties on
Friday.
Sydsvenska Kemi pledges that in connection with an acquisition of Perstorp AB it
will arrange for the divestment of resin-production operations in Perstorp,
Sweden and a formalin plant in Perstorp, Sweden. Such a divestment will affect
slightly less than 50 Perstorp employee but not their employment.
As part of the undertakings, the contract sales of certain resins conducted in
Germany by Dynea, a company controlled by Industri Kapital, will be sold to one
or more competitor.
