CHANGE OF FISCAL AGENT AND PRINCIPAL REGISTRAR under the Programme for the
Issuance of Debt Instruments by Westpac Banking Corporation and WestpacTrust
Securities NZ Limited, acting through its London branch (the "Issuers") as
described in the prospectus dated 24 November 2006, and as supplemented from
time to time (the "Programme").

The Issuers today announced the proposed transfer on 19 May 2007 of the role of
Fiscal Agent and Principal Registrar from JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. to The Bank
of New York for all purposes under the Programme and all debt instruments issued
or to be issued thereunder. With effect from that date, The Bank of New York
will be appointed as successor Fiscal Agent and Principal Registrar under the
Programme with its specified office at:
