Anglo American CEO Cynthia Carroll Interviewed About Her Decision to Step Down

LONDON, October 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

Mining boss Cynthia Carroll has announced that she is to step down as Chief Executive but remain in the role until a successor is found.

"I will be here until it a successor is identified and a smooth transition takes place," she said in a video interview.

The hunt for Ms Carroll's successor is already underway. Anglo American Chairman Sir John Parker said: "The most important thing is to find the right person to build on the strong foundations that Cynthia has already laid."

He added that Cynthia had had a "transformational impact on Anglo American".
