                   AGA Foodservice Group plc ('the Company')
                             Purchase of own shares

AGA Foodservice Group plc announces that on 6 April 2004, pursuant to the
passing of the resolution at the Annual General Meeting of the Company held on 8
May 2003, it purchased through Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein 630,000 ordinary
shares of 25p each in the Company at 240 pence per share. The purchase
represents approximately 0.49 per cent of the Company's issued ordinary share
