                   ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE

               Arko Energy Holdings plc ("the Company" or "Arko")

                Issue of new shares following exercise of option


The Directors of the Company announce the issue of 275,000 new ordinary shares
of 0.5p each resulting from the exercise of an option.


Application has been made for the 275,000 shares so issued to be admitted to
trading on AIM and it is anticipated that the shares will be so admitted on 8
September 2003.
