                    ASSET MANAGEMENT INVESTMENT COMPANY PLC
                                ("the Company")

The Company announces that on 09 May 2008 it repurchased 50,000 ordinary shares
for cancellation at a price of 115.75 pence per share. Following the purchase
and cancellation of the shares, 19,366,333 ordinary shares of 25p each will
remain in issue.

The above figure of 19,366,333 may be used by shareholders as the denominator
for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify
their interest in, or a change to their interest in the Company under the
Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
