    As at close of business on 15 August 2008, the unaudited net asset value per ordinary share of the Company calculated in accordance with
AIC recommended practice was:

    Net asset value (excluding current year income) per ordinary share is 130.49 pence. 

    Net asset value (cum current year income) per ordinary share is 131.22 pence. 

    Notes:

    1. Unlisted securities are normally revalued on a monthly basis. 

    2. Debt is included at fair value.

    3. Dividends are deducted from cum-income net asset value on the ex-dividend date.
