            Long Term Incentive Plan - Vesting of Performance Awards 
 
Dundee, Scotland, 2 November 2010. Axis-Shield plc (LSE:ASD, OSE:ASD) (the 
'Company'), the international and innovative in vitro diagnostics company, 
announces that on 1 November 2010 a total of 90,065 ordinary shares of 35 pence 
each ("Shares") vested in favour of Persons Discharging Managerial 
Responsibilities ("PDMRs") under the terms of the Company's Long Term Incentive 
Plan ("LTIP").  This vesting, details of which are provided below, related to 
the "performance awards" granted to the relevant individuals under the LTIP on 9 
October 2007:

In accordance with the rules of the LTIP, all of the above Shares have been 
transferred to the relevant individuals by the trustee of the Company's Employee 
Benefit Trust (the 'Trust'). 
 
Following the transfer of shares to PDMRs, a total of 39,789 Shares were sold at 
a price of 253p per Share on behalf of the PDMRs on 1 November 2010.  Details of 
these sales, and the resulting effect on the PDMRs' shareholdings, are set out
