              Discussions regarding the potential offer terminated

On 5 February 2007, the Board of Alexon Group plc ("Alexon" or the "Company")
announced that it had received an indicative approach that might or might not
lead to an offer being made for the Company.
The Independent Directors of Alexon have now concluded that the indicative
approach undervalues Alexon and its prospects and have terminated discussions.
The Independent Directors wish to confirm the Company is no longer in talks
regarding a possible takeover.

The preliminary results for the 52 weeks ending 27th January 2007 are expected
to be announced on 2nd April 2007.
