ASX announcement by Mount Gibson Iron Limited

The Company notes an announcement has been made today by Mount Gibson Iron
Limited ("Mt Gibson") in relation to the extension of the closing date of Mt
Gibson's off-market takeover bid, for all the fully paid ordinary shares in
Aztec, to 5pm Western Australian time on 27 October 2006. Mt Gibson also stated
in this announcement that since 28 September 2006 its relevant interest in
Aztec's ordinary shares has increased by 0.12% to 32.46%, including shares owned
by parties who have accepted Mt Gibson's Offer.
