Banco Comercial Portugues SA (the 'Company') hereby announces the intended
cancellation of its secondary listing on the London Stock Exchange. The last day
of trading in its shares on the London Stock Exchange is expected to be on
September 15, 2003. Following cancellation of the Company's secondary listing
in London, holders of the Company's shares will still be able to trade these
shares on the Euronext Lisbon stock exchange.
