Basepoint plc ("the Company") today announced:

Options over 10p ordinary shares in the Company ("New Options") were granted to
R J Cleaver and T D Boakes, directors of the Company, pursuant to a meeting of
the Remuneration Committee held on 15 July 2004 and in accordance with the
directors' service contracts.

The New Options were granted at an exercise price of 166.5p, being the closing
share price prior to the Remuneration Committee Meeting and are exercisable
until 14 July 2014.

R J Cleaver was awarded 108,259 New Options and in accordance with his service
contract has waived #15,000 of his bonus entitlement. T D Boakes was awarded
72,173 New Options and in accordance with his service contract has waived
#10,000 of his bonus entitlement.

Under a grant of options made in 1998, R J Cleaver holds options over 130,000
10p ordinary shares and T D Boakes holds options over 75,000 10p ordinary
shares. These options have an exercise price of 50p per share.
